That represented about 8% of the state's population and roughly a quarter of the nation's illegal immigrants. About 90% of California's illegal immigrants were from Latin America; 65% from Mexico.

I'm going to stay out of the debate on the effect illegals crossing the border have had on our economy here in California. But........Mayan.........I see more and more Mexicans than ever before in parts of Orange County (Santa Ana is over 75% Hispanic now...and Anaheim is over 50% Hispanic). Parts of L.A. County, such as La Puente and El Monte also are in the 75% Hispanic range.

Not saying anything negative......only that I believe the Hispanic population is increasing locally........not decreasing.
