Advertise in the community paper, pass out fliers, post on supermarket bulletin board, be generous with credit, hit local high school, etc.

move to europe, you can open a booking parlor on any street you want and people from the street will be coming in to give you their money

if you want to be a sports bar bookie in the US you will deal with degenerates every single day, so you will either lose a lot of money because people wont pay you, or you will end up doing things you may not be willing to do just to get paid

from what I read on sbr, local bookies nowadays utilize internet technology, you can subscribe to a service and they give you a php website, then go out to sports bars, meet people and direct them to your website were they can book action with you

also make sure you have a good sum for startup money, you dont want to be unable to pay if your first clients win, it will kill your business

a couple guys came to me and asked me if i would take there bets this football season cuz they knew i was good for the money. thats about all it took, i only have 3 guys tho and its basically all football and over now.

Be aware of guys in public at the bar or some type of club... if you notice that their favorite team wins and they are still pissed as hell then it is a sure indication they got action on it...
Also, money management... it is called gambling for a reason not called losing. Players do win and sometimes go on streaks and you have to have the bank roll to pay... if you do not it can lead to all kinds of problems. Like not being able to go back to that favorite bar as mentioned because you owe guys money. This is just a nice example, some people get really pissed when they get stiffed and might try looking for you, I mean their money.

I have about 4 or 5 guys that make plays almost every night. I dont mess with people at the bar only people i know or close friends of theirs. Started with one and just grew, oh and has to be more thn just nba, offer up other sports even if they dont play them, GL pal.
