Last week with the Libyan unrest and whatnot, the market showed three days of consecutive drops in value, although with all the interest in douche bag Charlie Sheen, perhaps the drop can be attributed to him, as a couple of those day - he was getting more media attention than world news. Although when the U.S. doesn't import any Libyan oil and Libyan oil only accounts for 2 percent of OPEC output, I am not sure why my local gas station has raised prices by 11 percent. It does feel a bit out of proportion. Like everyone else, I too witnessed the spike in gas prices at the pump last week. I paid $3.77 one day for premium and three days later was gaping at the price of $4.21 per gallon of the same stuff when I needed to refill the tank. That was quite the increase in a very short time.
