Guys, you are all misssing something: Gus is not dead! I have seen many facial trauma injuries like these, especially from the war. The face has few major vessels on the sides, and it is possible to have half your face blown off and still live. The way the bomb was placed, with Hector and his chair blocking much of the blast, Gus was only injuried on his right side. Yes, he lost his eye, the right side of his face, teeth, maybe tongue, ear, etc., but I would wager anything that Gus survived that blast. Gus might have even seen Hector hitting that damn bell and turned left to run, which would have saved him. Hitler was not killed with a blast much more powerful than that because there was the leg of a table, against which the bomb was placed, and any obstacle diminshes the blast effect, and Hector and the wheelchair saved Gus. The fact that he walked of his own volition out of the room without blood or without smoke or smolder of any kind proves to me he is gravely injured but nowhere near death. I would wager anything.
