A girl i know tells me she was pulled over near mission texas..near rio grande city...70 in a 65..fkin 5 miles over the limit...wow. In new york, we can easily go 10-15 over the speed limit without any trouble

    In Kali,

Speed limit is 65 on the fwy I drive each day. As long as I keep it at 80 or below the cops on radar don't even bother with you. However 1mph over 80 and you are toast.

I know where they hide and radar but one day I was not paying attention and got pulled over going 90 in a 65
The cop was cool though. He did not get mad or jump my sht he just told me to slow it down and gave me a wallet draining ticket.

Usually in Texas 8 MPH over is the magic number, but of course, law enforcement can write you a ticket for being 1 MPH over the limit.

Mission, TX - is her ticket for Mission (city, municipal), Rio Grande City (municipal), Hidalgo County, or Starr County?

You can request deferred, pay by mail, and not have to take defensive driving. Sit back, relax, and don't get another ticket for 30-60 days. Call the court and ask how much deferred would be, easy as pie.

I had a cop tell me it has to be at least 10 over before he'll go after someone. And that's in town.
In San Diego we we're doing 85 on the freeways and the cops were cruising right past us.

It's also tough to generalize how fast you can go in Texas, or in the Rio Grande Valley area, which are both huge spaces.

Let's put it this way, if you're in San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, Houston, you can go 5-10 over the speed limit, in some cases 15 over (Dallas lol) and drive RIGHT BY a cop and be fine.

If you're driving in BETWEEN cities, or in RURAL areas, Texas little town cops are notorious for pulling people over. There are so many small towns, so many different police / sheriff / constable jurisdictions that have no real crimes to investigate except for........speeding.

Yeah it's bull how it works here, when you're on the interstate or intrastate highways, you pass through these pocket towns, speed limit will be 70, then 60, then 50, 40, and 35 all within a mile stretch. Then you drive 35 through some 2 light town, and back up to 70.

Those little towns are the ones that getcha. Nice on the warning though
