Agreed. Kids should not gamble. But instead of placing the blame on other people, maybe you should look in the mirror and come to the realization that you were an unknowing, unsuspecting parent and go from there. Its not our fault your kid did what he did. So why blame us? We didnt call your house and entice him to join. Preach if you must, just place the blame where it is justified. In the home.

It is only an addiction if you allow it to become an addiction, just like with alcohol. Now I feel bad for your son, I really do, but just because one person has no self-control, that should have no impact on recreational gamblers that know their limits or on professional gamblers that do this successfully for a living. Just like no one is rushing to close down bars even with all of the alcoholics in the world.

Sports betting is a better investment than the stock market. It has outperformed the indexes in the last 15 years for most of us. You should encourage him to follow us here for his own benefit.

Nobody will win gambling all the time. It is not a good hobby to get into. My son used to win but luck runs out. ask yourself for me, because I care. Forget the winnings, how much did you lose? Contribute to society, and dont you dare call me a bad parent. i would not try to spread the message if i didnt care about my son.

There are your two main fallacies. I have been winning at gambling. Not all the time you are correct. Some days your down some your up. My up days outnumber the down in number and value. Thus I am up over the long run.

Two it's none of your business what my hobbies are. You chose to spend money on playing tennis or biking. I chose to spend my money on weither the Giants win tonight or not.

This kind of sounds like my college years ( I was able to graduate). The best thing you could do now is to go to GA meetings with him. Usually at the same time the gamblers meet there is a meeting for support/loved ones. You may see his immediate plans ruined, but here is a chance to help him with this addiction. Sad to say sometimes the bad things that have happened still aren't a deterant.

We should show some respect for this mom/lady. Although you may not agree w/ her, she is a woman and calling her names shows how classy you are. This is a form of therapy for her. It is a gambling forum. Not everyone has to like it.

Mom, although you think the world has come to an end, it hasn't. You could have a picture perfect son then next thing you know he drives home drunk and kills someone. Things could be worse.

Lastly, things happen for a reason. He seems pretty young to me. I'll guess 20 (too young for marriage anyway). Get him the help he needs and stay on top of him. All is not lost by any means.

Forget any of this because it is the work of a ghost.
