Treat it as a vacation and have a set limit of "play" money. There are ATMs everywhere to tempt you to get more out.

Awesome 305....I'm going for my 1st time in late June, and can't wait. Gonna be a blast. I hear Palemino was worth checking out after 10pm if you like 's in your face !!!

There is a great place for fish taco's between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. There is an indoor walkway between the two casinos. I think the place is called Hussong's.

I always like going to old downtown for an afternoon and hit up some of the ol' school places like The Nugget, Binions, etc. They do a video show every hour on the big canopy and they usually have some entertainment going on as well.

Downtown is good fun, lots of casinos along the walk but I would go at night to check out the light screen above Fremont Street. Table limits are also lower downtown compared to the strip so you can stretch your dollar a little more. I also make it a point to hit the Bellagio buffet for at least one dinner each trip, the cost is a little high (about $40 as I remember) but well worth it. If you find yourself not wanting to gamble for a few hours I would also hit up the arcade in Circus Circus, it's a great place to have a few drinks and play a bunch of video games if you are in the mood.

Get off the strip some of the time!
Go downtown or to smaller local casinos. Go east on Fremont downtown and hit up the Cortez, the Western and other shitholes and have a can of beer at the Atomic. Drink local brews at 4 Queens or Ellis Island.

As most of the people said above, go downtown, freemont street, go to the hilton it has the best sportsbook and some $10 blackjack. Buffets are good for the price, unless you can find a deal at a restaurant.
