What Singers Sound Like Their Records In Concert?
I was watching the Black Eyed Peas on TV with my kids this weekend, and they sound God awful in concert. I think the only guys that sound like their records that I have seen in concert are Tom Petty and Bob Seger. Anyone else you can think of?

For a moment, lets say rappers are not singers. It would have to be old school guys cause they can really play and sing. Seems all that is done today is done in the studio with synthesizers and lip synched later. Milli Vanilli was just ahead of their time. They would have been perfect for this generation.

Too much hip hop today is synthesized... I love Black Eyed Peas - on CD. Live, like the poster said they're horrible.

Live - George Strait, Reba McEntire, Celine Dion are three that I can say are really good live.

Not a whole lot because of all the synthesizing equipment they have.

I think that Amy Lee (of Evanescence) actually sounds better live than in records, and that's saying a lot, because she sounds AMAZING on CDs. Her voice gave me chills when I heard her live. Probably my favorite female voice. Her voice is kind of haunting and unique, but incredible

I fukin love Amy Lee. She gives me chills as well. Is it just me, or is anyone else sick and fukin tired of the black eyes peas. Those turds are EVERYWHERE. Every time a major event goes off, who has performed there for the last two years- the crappy black eyed peas. Even someone with an angelic voice like Fergie loses quality on those gigs. Geesh- just terrible.

A GREAT live show- Metallica, hands down. Yeah, James changes the melody every once in a while (which at least proves it's being sang live or without a voice track overlay), but the instrumentals are 97% dead on the album. Those guys are amazing. If I could meet anyone who I haven't already, it would be them. Would love to hang with them for a day (or week).

Saw Fuel when they were popular, sounded exactly like their records.

Red Hot Chili Peppers were awful in concert.

Jimmy Buffett's hit or miss. Sometimes he kinda mails it in, sometimes he's really good.

Slayer is the tightest live band I've seen. It probably helps that they've been playing for 30 years.

I don't agree with the Ozzy post - at least the last few years.
