What's with the repeating of the posters name over and over again. At first I thought it was just JJ, then I noticed lots of people started doing it on here. Illini even. What is this garbage with repeating it over and over again. It's retarded.

I do what JJ tells me to do on the forum. He wants me to post a certain style and I listen to my boss.

it is an AWESOME posting style

some guys make liberal use of it, other power posters do not do it at all

it is a personal choice

it communicates a powerful and effective tone and feeling when used appropriately

i myself use it ALL the time, I personally love it and i feel it suits my posting quite often

I don't know when it started, but i am pretty sure it was a style originated by sick gambla/nicky

nicky uses it all the time of course, while jj actually doesn't use it much at all

even with nicky, i think now there are MANY posters who do it far more frequently than he does, or even ever did

jj will sometimes use it in an abbreviated way - he may repeat a poster's name only once, some time in the beginning of the post and then maybe once again at the end

but jj RARELY in fact uses the full-fledged multiple repeats that you see many posters use in various posting situations

the quote from zeta is actually a very good example of basic usage of this technique in a simple, targeted post, in a thread that is not intended to have a page explosion or particularly long front-page life

very well done, and a great example of the stylistic tone of the technique
