Dip I prefer Skoal mint, and chew I prefer Redman. Don't really do either as much as I used to, but agree its hard not to on the golf course or playing baseball or softball.

I dipped that stuff for 8 years after smoking for ten. And I don't live in a place nor engage in a profession where there's a lot of people walking around with big honking lippers in their mouths. That might be one of the reasons I liked it so much. Quitting was one of the most difficult things I've done. And indeed I do still miss it sometimes. But that shit is disgusting and unhealthy. It has the benefit of not being aggressively anti-social as smoking, but it's still ******* gross. And, truthfully, strikes me as fairly juvenile now. Still....I do feel the urge now and again. But I'm three 1/2 years out so that's all in the rear view.

But If you want to quit, you can.

I dipped for around 7 years in high school and all through college... quit cold turkey on the millenium.

Didn't have a single dip for 10 years and last summer went camping and bought a fuking tin of my old pal Skoal Mint.

I honestly told myself it was only for the trip and that was it... yeah right. It took about a month before I was at 2 lippers a day.

During this stint, my whole thought process was that I was going to quit again this past new years... I did, and have not had one since.

No joke, about 2 hours ago, before seeing this thread I just told my wife that I was craving a dip more than I have since I quit.

BTW, the reason I quit the first time was because my roomate at school had a fukin huge growth on the inside of his lip that had to be cut out... at 22 years old and he dipped like a champ.
