How bad do you hate taxes?

1. I like taxes, my money is generally spent well by the US Gov

You don't want to mess with the IRS. They are like John Gotti Mafia and won't stop at any lengths to take your money. Years back one of my friends quit college to start a business. He made some money and didn't do his taxes right. He paid what he thought was already more than his fair share for a 22 year old or whatever but apparently it wasn't enough. He went to the bank one day and he saw that the IRS had yanked like 7,000 out of his account. No letter, no phone call, no nothing. They just wiped him out.

Yes they are ruthless but they do send a letter ahead of time and it is usually certified mail. They will also garnish wages first if they can. Im personally a big fan of the fair tax. Everyone pays based on consumption. Everyone will still pay their fair proportion

My friend never got a letter before or after. I asked him because I thought it was bizzare but he never got anything. PS I'd much rather have taxes run your way than the current way. Taxes in this country are a joke. Make it fair and simple. You could have 10 different accoutants and they'd come up with 10 different numbers. It destroys legitamacy from the system when nobody knows what they are supposed to pay and we waste Billions in tax software yearly.
