What do you get for a friends son 1st birthday

As practical as cash is, it won't be remembered by the kid or the parents - unless it's a lot. It's a birthday party, have some fun with it. Here's what I do for these parties. If the father's a friend, get the kid a jersey of Dad's favorite team. If the father's a really good friend, get the kid a jersey of Dad's least favorite team.

But on a more serious note, try a card, maybe some cash for the parents.
At 1 years old you will probably need to find something the kid isnt going to choke on when he inevitably starts chewing on it.

Agree. We live in Oz and a friend bought our son a MLB shirt with my wifes favourite player on it.
We love it.

Really though, at 1 year old, they are more interested in the wrapping paper.....

Thanks for the ideas guys, ill probably hit Toys R Us and look around for something for the little guy, i do love the Jersey idea, but i can't force myself to buy a Phillies jersey, goes against everything i stand for... Thanks a lot!
