Everything is reset which I thought you knew so I was just reminding you of the anniversary points. Notice how Sinner, Foldie, EI, Rudy, etc... they have a new reg date and their post count started at 0? You become a new person on here - old account is closed down completely and you start fresh.

That's what Willie told me when I wanted to change my name. 1.5 - 2 years ago names were changed without losing start date & post count but SBR did away with that. My message from Willie came after they stopped allowing it, I believe he said it was causing problems with the software.

BUT later on Crazy Lou became simply Lou, so I believe it's still possible.

its a surprise. basically would like to undergo the change without having to undergo people questioning who is the new handle and why it was changed so completely. though technically not a ghost a new account would be if the old one is abandoned, still gotta deal with those perennial ghosthunters. complete overhaul not worth the headache.

with same reg date and post numbers, people will know its still me.

I wanted to change from Opie to something halfway cool. Its nearly impossible to make Opie cool.

They said it wasn't possible.

Only thing that kinda helped me is the Opie thats a tough biker dude on Sons of Anarchy. He's fairly cool.

I was told numerous times you can't change your name. You can retire it and start with a new one but you definitely can't change it.

If I knew I would still be here 4 years later I would have chosen a different name but I don't mind what I have now. why would you want to change the name you have been using for years ? only reason i can think of is if people on here hate you and you want to change your online identity.

e.g brock landers, ttwarrior , carseller, whatsgood just to name a few.

i dont hate any of the above just that when i think of guys with the most haters these came in mind

Yeah, when I signed up here I'd been lurking for almost a year and decided to register because I literally just wanted to say thanks and be kooky in Lakerboy's NBA thread. When a few wingnuts started sending me crazy crap, I debated changing my name to something neutral and talked to Sam about it. But by doing that, that erases all of my history here - great or humiliating - so I said no.

I've realised that it's probably not the best idea for people to know my real name considering the silly spelling of it but it is what it is. I can change my name (as you've seen) and people will still refer to me as Shari. No point anymore. But a lesson learned for next time.

The other important thing is that you will also lose your Po status as it is not transferable.

exactly, its like going into witness protection. You get a new identity but you cant talk to your old friends or your family.

Theres always consequences for changing your identity because no one does it unless they are up to no good or in deep shit
