Like the old STP better...no Scott Weiland on vocals meant the death of them. Try some Velvet Revolver if you like the old STP, much better in my opinion. The song you posted is by no means the worst song I've ever heard, just lacks what made STP what they used to be: original.

Additionally, ESPN will use eight STP tracks-including new cuts "Between the Lines," "Dare If You Dare," "Take a Load Off" and "Fast As I Can"-across its programming. And footage from the band's March appearance at South by Southwest will air on TV screens in Best Buy stores and be used for album teasers on STP's Web site. The group has several TV appearances lined up around the album's release-including "Late Show With David Letterman" (May 19) and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (May 25)-and it's scheduled for Howard Stern's Sirius Satellite Radio show May 18. STP's March 27 concert at Chicago's Riviera Theatre will air on VH1, MTV2 and sister HD channel Palladia in late May.

Another driver of the album will be radio airplay. First single "Between the Lines," released in late March, has been very well-received. This week the track blasts up the Alternative chart (39-9) and the Rock Songs list (40-2) and flies 36-7 on Mainstream Rock, marking the act's first top 10 radio hit since 2003.

I don't think you can base "THE NEW" STP as you say on one song. The song isn't that bad. I think it has the STP sound and style to it. I'll evaluate them more when I hear the whole album.

          Hey Brock......

I didn't look at the thread since you made it a few days ago but did you pick up the new Slash album yet? I listened to it once through and it's not to shabby. Diggin the ones with Ozzy and Andrew Stockdale. The Dave Grohl and Duff instrumental is pretty bad ass. The Paradise City cover with Cypress Hill and Fergie has to grow on me.

Not really my thing. I liked old STP, but I'm not digging this song. It might grow on me though.

It'll play well on radio. It's a good summer song, and people will be glad STP are back, but nothing about that song stands out to me at all.

Missed them on Leno. Would have loved to see it. I got 4 bonus tracks on mine. Listening to a song called Chains and Shackles right now. Not sure of the singer but it sounds like Zack de la Rocha. Might just be my favorite song from the album. Good Stuff.

Hey Brock I went and saw them 2 weeks ago and they kicked ass. They played 3 new songs and all were pretty damn good, Weiland is in zone right now and looks like he has kicked his demons. I think he realized that STP is something pretty special. Every STP album is different in its own way and expect the same from this new one. I think every album they have done is damn good notch stuff and if they can recapture some of what they did in the past on this album this could push them to the top of the elite bands of all time.
