Every listener may have a unique interpretation of a song’s meaning, and “Persecution Smith” is no exception. For me, the song serves as a reminder of the dangers of paranoia and how it can consume our thoughts and actions. It highlights the destructive cycle of prejudice and fear, where individuals like Persecution Smith perpetuate division and hatred.
As I listen to this song, I can’t help but reflect on the current state of society. It’s a reminder to examine our own prejudices and ensure that we don’t fall into the trap of thinking in absolutes or demonizing others based on their beliefs or appearances.

“Persecution Smith” by Bob Seger is a thought-provoking song that delves into themes of paranoia, social unrest, and the human inclination to conform. Its lyrics paint a vivid picture of a troubled individual consumed by his own fears and prejudices. The song serves as a cautionary tale, reminding us of the dangers of prejudice, division, and the need to find common ground in an increasingly polarized world. Listening to this song encourages introspection and empathy, reminding us to challenge our own biases and strive for understanding.

Yes, she is in that Rush song as well. She is married to one of Sean penn's brothers. Great voice.

If you get a chance watch the Pretenders live performance from Germany (1984)
    It'll change you.

This IMO is Al's greatest parody.

Not only is she the sexiest woman in rock history, but she also had in her prime the biggest voice in punk/rock history, and that includes Ariana Grande and Maraiah Carey.

    Miss Debbie Harry
She nails every note here so perfect I cry.
    Debbie is an all-time GOAT

Great job, guys. I very much view Music as a trip down Memory Lane.

Something about brothers in bands. More often than not, there's friction:

    *Kinks - Davies brothers had a falling-out.
*A Flock of Seagulls - Score brothers had a falling-out. AFOS had a very brief career. Should have been a good bit longer, given their early success.

One other thing about a band. It's been said that a real band almost never lasts > 7 years. And if they do, how good is the quality?
...Very, very hard to find the creative juices after the first two albums. Especially if the label is pushing you to crank out more commercial hits.
...The Clash is a very good example of this. Quality music. But it falls off, and the end is near.
