Oil prices jump as market awaits Iran response to attacks

Oil prices surged Sunday evening to the highest levels since President Donald Trump returned to office as energy markets digested the U.S. military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities — and the risk that Tehran may try to disrupt the flow of crude oil out of the Middle East.

U.S. crude oil futures rallied more than 6 percent to peak at $78 a barrel, more than $1 higher than the price on Jan. 20 when Trump was inaugurated. That jump is likely to filter through to gasoline prices just as drivers prepare to hit the road for the long July 4th weekend next week.

"Should oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz be affected, we could easily see $100 oil," said Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates.

Following the outbreak of the Israel-Iran war, JPMorgan analysts forecast that under a "severe outcome," a closure of the Strait of Hormuz could push oil prices to $120–$130 per barrel.

If crude climbs into that range, analysts predict gasoline and diesel prices could rise by as much as $1.25 per gallon.

“Consumers would be looking at a national average gasoline price of around $4.50 per gallon—closer to $6.00 if you’re in California,” Lipow said.

Trump put on sanctions to Iran. They were almost broke.

Biden didn't enforce Trump's sanctions so Iran used that money to fund terrorists in the area and is why Oct 7th happened. Biden was weak.

Under Obama and Biden, the bad guys didn't respect the US and thus invaded the Ukraine, they murdered those 13 soldiers in Afghanistan, and they coordinated to murder all those people in Israel.

Trump has to clean up the mess Obama and Biden left. He wouldn't have to if they weren't so incompetent.

Russia: Other nations ready to supply Iran with nukes after U.S. strike

In the wake of President Donald Trump's strike on Iran's nuclear sites Saturday, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Sunday that "a number of countries" are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear weapons.

"What have the Americans accomplished with their nighttime strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran?" Medvedev questioned in a post on social media. "The enrichment of nuclear material -- and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons -- will continue. A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads."

Medvedev said Iran's political leadership has survived despite Israel's apparent pursuit of a regime change and may have "come out even stronger."

Like Russia, Iran ally Pakistan is armed with nuclear weapons but said Thursday that it had not yet received requests for any military assistance from Iran while expressing alignment with its neighbor. It has since condemned the U.S. attack on Iran.

“An overwhelming majority of the people [in the US] don’t want to get involved in any of this,” Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist in his first term, said on his War Room podcast shortly after the strikes.

Carlson said there was no justification for attacking Iran, adding there was “zero credible intelligence” to suggest it was “anywhere near” building a nuclear bomb.
