And no, I don't have TDS, I'm a registered republican because when I was a kid Ronald Regan was 'my man'.
About ten years ago, I began shifting more towards the center.
I'm still pro-corporate, but the health care policies on the left side are better than the republican policies, for instance.

Excuse me if I don't vote up and down the party line, and those who do, no matter what political party you're aligned with, in my opinion, are just ignorant, brainwashed, and not capable of having an original thought.

Currently, I believe the best elected official at the national level is our Governor, Ned Lamont.

Lamont's a democrat, made his money on the corporate level, has a brilliant business mind, understands the value of big business in Connecticut, how it generates beaucoup revenue to the state and all, but this is where Lamont separates himself from 98% of the rest of them on the state or national level, he also understands the unfortunate need federal assistance and makes sure they're provided for. I'm talking about those who sincerely need it, not cradle-to-grave welfare abusers. Lamont can not be more up the middle.
This is just my opinion, but Lamont is the ideal Governor. I think it was you I told this to a couple of years ago, a poll taken by Lamont's peers said that Governor Lamont is the best Governor in the nation.

If anything or all I just stated makes me a TDS sufferer, then fine, I suffer from TDS.
I don't give a shit anyway how somebody labels me, nine times out of ten they'd be wrong, believe me, I've been called a lot worse almost on a daily basis, ask me if I give a shit?

    LOL Trump be like

    I read Nancy Regan's memoirs.
I distinctly remember reading Nancy telling Ron in the early '80s (referring to Trump when he was in his mid-twenties and just beginning his political aspirations) "You stay away from him, Ron, he's trouble, and I don't want him riding your coattails."

Nancy knew even back then, she knew.

You care about everything Trump does. You even pretend know what he thinks and it drives you insane.

This is full blown TDS on full display. Too bad there isn't a vaccine and there probably won't be one in your lifetime.

I wonder why none of the lefties around here are talking about Biden's terrible Presidency and his despicable personality.

Biden the plagiarist, pedophile who doesn't live by the laws of God, who cheated on his first wife and drove her to vehicular suicide and committed years of perversion by bathing with his only daughter for years. Quit pretending Biden is some kind of glorious example of husband, father, grandfather and patriot. He is a pervert, lying, anti semite, failed Catholic, corrupt politician POS.

do you really believe that? Pavy, don't get sucked in by the same people that have been caught lying to you for years. The same people who told you Biden didn't have dementia. You are on the losing side. They have no idea how to run the country exect spend your tax dollars, blame the other guy, and call anyone who disagrees with them a racist. If Trump came out tomorrow in favor of oxygen, many of these same people would hold their breaths until they pass out. Don't hold your breath. Embrace the great things happening in the USA.

    Notice the date ...

Why are cattle ranches going out of business?

Over several decades, input costs for equipment, fuel, fertilizer, and labor have all increased significantly. The dollars received for cattle sold has not increased at the same rate. Therefore, a ranch production system that economically was profitable in the past may no longer be so. Oct 21, 2024

The claim that cattle ranchers are going out of business due to labor shortages caused by ICE raids and high beef prices on Memorial Day weekend is not entirely accurate. While labor shortages, particularly due to immigrant workers' fears of deportation, and high beef prices are indeed impacting the cattle industry, the reasons for ranchers going out of business are complex and multifaceted.

    Elaboration:
    • Labor Shortages:
The fear of ICE raids and potential deportations has caused some immigrant workers, who are essential for ranch labor, to avoid working on farms. This shortage of labor can lead to higher operating costs and difficulty managing cattle, ultimately impacting profitability.
    • High Beef Prices:
While high beef prices might seem beneficial, they can be unsustainable in the long run if not coupled with strong demand. If ranchers are forced to sell their cattle at prices that don't reflect their costs, they may face financial difficulties, even with high market prices.
    • Other Factors:
Besides labor and prices, other factors like drought, weather events, and increased input costs (equipment, fuel, fertilizer) can contribute to ranchers' financial struggles.
    • Complex Situation:
The cattle industry faces a multitude of challenges, and ranchers going out of business is often a result of a combination of these factors, rather than solely one cause.
    • Specifics of Memorial Day:
While Memorial Day weekend is a significant period for beef consumption, the claim that prices on that specific weekend are the primary driver of ranch closures is an oversimplification. The overall market trends and long-term economic factors play a more significant role.
