Govt debt is not necessarily a bad thing.

We should want our govt to go into debt to cushion our falls in the bad times, and pay it down in the good times.

Sham impeachments or corrupt conduct are non-sequiturs when discussing if a deficit is a bad thing or not. Don't be fooled into thinking they are connected or that it's a black and white debt is bad or good thing.

Government is supposed to run a deficit and spend into the economy to stimulate it. What you have now in the US is rich people not paying tax's, hoarding wealth, and lending to the government with money that should have been tax's in the first place.

I agree rich people aren't the problem, just currently appear to be unequal beneficiaries. So do think the finger pointing at American oligarchs is still warranted.

But it is the politicians who fashion the laws and rules to make it happen.


I still say being fired up about those things does not require being fired up about govt debt in general. We've just come through 4 years or so of huge govt spending to combat covid issues. I'd guess every country has big debt right now.

Get fired up about the collusion of politics and business to suck us dry for sure. But no need to demonize govt debt. It would be very bad for the people if govt refused to go into debt.

Trump pardoned a man named Paul Walczak who was sentenced to nearly 18 months in prison for tax crimes.

He also happens to be the son of a Trump political ally and donor who Trump appointed to the National Cancer Advisory Board in 2020.
