I’ve been here for damn near 10 years, but I’ll be honest, I never got with the groove. I post here and there, but that’s about it. Was never a pro. Never used the store of sportsbook. Didn’t care about the points. Can someone just sum up briefly what happened to sbr to make people leave? And what is so great about the place across the street?

Why wouldn't you give one the greatest posters of all time Bigday a $100 for his foundation, and when you do that your points are were worth bitcoin. Even if you didn't care about points, you use this forum why not? If it was the old SBR your points right now would be worth hundreds, just for logging on.

As for the “social” part of SBR. I used to part take a lot more. Know who’s who. So yes, at that time I was aware of big day. Unfortunately I wish I had a better excuse why I didn’t help him out.
As for the points. I really don’t care. I’m not trying to come off braggy, but I make more than enough money to care about even if my points are worth money.
Looking back, I don’t know why I didn’t become pro. Most likely because I didn’t care that much and I have a life outside of this place.Comment -
Totally agree on betpoints… didn’t really care about that. The Pro was just about picking a charity for me. Small price to pay and I felt a no risk contribution to a good cause and to be an active member.
As for what happened? First- funding. I think SBR and the powers behind it decided they didn’t want to pay their bills. On top of that, SBR let trolling get out of control led by JJ, allowed guys to hijack players talk with misinformation and pointless arguing led by Morino, allowed political chatter to spill into players talk led by many, cut the betpoints/store which shed a lot of the grifters. The free ride is over so naturally that gets rid of people. That’s how it works in life and in anything. Lots of guys that are gone or across the street were the problems anyway. Not all, but many. Addition by subtraction. Forum content is driven by users as it should be so it’s up to us.
Across the street- it’s a safe place where guys won’t be called out, lots of useless content that SBR didn’t want in players talk, no ball breaking and they get points they can cash in for an offshore deposit match- a genius idea because that means they keep the affiliate revenue stream flowing. You post- we give you points, you get points you deposit for match at our books, deposit for match and I get a cut.Comment -
BMR owned by same company as SBR? Forum format, style, and layout all look the basically the same as SBR just the colors have changed. SBR Jeannie is now BMR Jeannie and now JJ and Im sure others on deeper inspection just moved over,.. what a coincidence. In my view SBR took a big hit on site count log in activity when SBR stopped allowing SBR members to post in forum on the paid tout cappers (SBR Service plays) picks to be posted plus all the other perks are no longer available ie Sportsbook bye bye/points for merchandise/gift cards gone.Comment -

SBR really was sold, and it's totally new people running it with no connection to old management.
BMR existed beside SBR for many years as the Euro focused version of SBR. Almost all the staff that worked on SBR also worked on BMR. The same people who built SBR the way it looked, built BMR the way it looked.
Only 8 of the old SBR staff (5 forum staff and 3 office staff) stayed here with the new company at the time ownership changed. The rest of the old SBR staff continued operating BMR and a couple of other projects (also not connected to the new SBR in any way)
There is no secret conspiracy or sale only on paper stuff!
I wish JJ all the best at BMR. He is the biggest identity of betting forumville and it can only help all the remaining forums if he does stay active somewhere..Comment -

Different ballgame. They were never there to have left. You haven't been around long enough to know. Plenty of times sbr ran a bash, they included flights and hotel and people still didn't go/ wouldn't show up/ or bail at the last minute.

I started here before bet points, and it was a nice addition, I played most of mine thru the years in the casino, because I liked playing and didn't need the stuff offered, I could not figure out bitcoin wallet and how to use it until 2018 or so and wasn't going to figure it out. If I post at 100 forums, or 2 SBR will always feel like my home forum!!
