killing one, during argument over ‘too much mayo,’ report says
Atlanta shooting occurred in downtown Subway restaurant
A Subway restaurant employee in Atlanta was killed and another wounded after a customer shot them during an argument over mayonnaise on Sunday, according to a local report.
The shooting unfolded around 6:30 p.m. at a Subway restaurant on Northside Drive Southwest in the city’s downtown, Atlanta police said.
"Believe it or not, it was about too much mayonnaise on his sandwich," the location’s owner Willie Glenn told FOX5 Atlanta about what sparked the incident.

Glenn said that the customer escalated the situation and "all hell broke loose."
The two staff members, both females, were shot, Glenn said. One woman was killed and the other was rushed to a hospital, where she underwent surgery.

A Subway employee was fatally shot and another worker was critically injured after an argument with a customer "about too much mayo" on his sandwich, police said.
Officers responded to the shooting at the downtown Atlanta gas station shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
During a news conference
Monday, police Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. identified the worker who died as a 26-year-old woman. A second employee, a 24-year-old woman, was also shot and seriously injured, police said.
A 5-year-old child was also in the restaurant at the time of the shooting but was not injured, police said.
The women were taken to a hospital for treatment, where the 26-year-old was pronounced dead. Police did not release her name.
Hampton said the woman who survived was in critical condition on Monday.
According to police, a customer went into the restaurant to order a sandwich and became angry about his sub.
"There was something wrong with the sandwich that made him so upset that he decided to take out his anger on two employees," Hampton said.
“We had a customer come in that was a little upset with how his sandwich was fixed,” the store’s owner told WXIA. “Believe it or not, it was over too much mayonnaise on his sandwich.”
That’s when “all hell broke loose,” he said.
A store manager on duty shot back at the suspect but didn’t hit him, WAGA and WXIA reported. One of the employee’s children was also inside and witnessed the shooting.
Owner Willie Glenn said the two workers, both young women, had started working at the restaurant just a few weeks ago, according to WSB-TV.
“They were just model employees,” he told the news station.
Police are still searching for the shooter.
