#12Once you make it.... musicians must have one of the easiest lives... just make sure your manager don't fukk you over.... and don't have a wife or a nagging gf. And you're golden. 50 is too soon though. Terrible.Comment -

#13Oh this isn’t true at all. I mean the level of “making it” that you speak of might be to be in the biggest rock band in the world as the foo fighters are, but getting to that level, I mean the average kid in AAU has a better shot at making the NBA than that. Music is one of the most difficult industries to truly make it in. And countless artists you think have “made it” are nowhere near the level of financially free that you think they are. They always always owe somebody somethingComment -

#16Yeah, especially nowadays... Artists don't get rich off of album sales anymore and the streaming services are notoriously stingy and corrupt, so most bands have to tour their asses off to make a little scratch from their keep at the gate and whatever else they can pull at the merch stand. The mega successful bands that can rest on their laurels made their lion's share before the radical changes in the industry shook things up.Comment -

#17One of my favorite examples of how fukked the music industry is…Jake E Lee wrote an entire Ozzy record, I think it was Bark At The Moon, but it’s credited as “music and lyrics by Ozzy Osborne”. Like what in the fukk shit is that, Ozzy had never nor since written a stitch of music in his life. But those with power will fukk you over whenever they can. The idea in this case being, no one cares about your music if Ozzy’s not singing on it, and you get strongarmed out of your credit and never paid for your contribution. Now how the fukk is that ok??Comment -

You typically have 4 creative minds in a band.... if one even has a business sense (which is highly unlikely).... you tend to have quarrels over leadership. Musicians tend to lack logic... and a business sense. All it takes is a faulty contract.... and they are screwed... for numerous years. I feel that's why some bands don't make it big.Comment -

#22The shocking death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins could be related to drugs, authorities said.
Hawkins, 50, was found dead in a hotel room at the Casa Medina in Bogota, Colombia, Friday, where heartbroken fans gathered outside in shock.
“According to those close to him, the death could be related to the consumption of drugs,” the Metropolitan Police of Bogota said in a statement published by several news outlets in the South American nation and reported by the Mirror of London.
“The cause of death has yet to be established,” police cautioned.
Hawkins, an electrifying performer with a stage presence that projected from behind his drum kit, had a history of known drug use. He overdosed on heroin in 2001 and spent a week in a coma, just four years after joining the Foo Fighters, according to The Sun.Comment -

#23Columbia is where the drugs come from
Fentynal almost for sure
Only question is do the foo fighters continue, or fold up shop like Led Zeppelin did.
I doubt they stop, Charlie Watts just died and the stones didn't skip a beatLast edited by Brock Landers; 03-26-22, 09:27 AM.Comment -

#34Heard he got a booster shot about a month ago.
Would be crazy if he died from that….especially since they were one of the bands leading the must be vaxxed to attend their concert.Last edited by mpaschal34; 03-26-22, 10:39 AM.Comment
