    DB Cooper is my favorite.
The guy took off with $200,000 in 1971? and jumped out of a plane and was never caught. Although no on knows what happened to him https://www.fbi.gov/history/famous-c...oper-hijacking

They found some of the money in the forest in Oregon, they say with the conditions that night and the forest he jumped into he most likely died, the guy was wearing loafers.

        Still, dam awesome story!
Almost like a action movie in real life.
I have to wonder, 200K in 1971 was really that much?
Would it cover all the risk and costs involved in the aftermath?

          $200,000 in 1971

Could be worth more than 2 million today but depending how that is calculated. In simple terms money doubles every 10 years but I can't estimate today's value but it would be close.

I only use Doubethink because of the book written I think somewhere in the 1930's. It was named 1984 and depicted life in the '80s. No I found it was written in 1949 by George Orwell. I remember reading and discussing it in High School in the 70's thinking 1984 is too far away. But the book did a classic example of "Big Brother." Check it out if you can find it. Should be somewhere in a book store or online.

I hope the hell the made it through. It takes some real balls to jump out of a plane at night above a forest. The fact that they didn't find but a couple grand lends me to think he made it. Good for him He is one of my heros.

Now lets talk about the Zodiac killer, another great American story. There is only a few left now that they caught the Unabomber.

It looks like they figured the Zodiac killer died in 1981. The best as I can tell on the internet is they figured it was him.

Damn, all we have left is the DB Cooper story now. I'll have to find some backup stories now about great Criminals of Recent History.
