It was 5 of us that night for a good party inside the Coliseum. We were pretty close to the stage. Roger Waters singing Goodbye Cruel World from inside one of the pieces before the wall came tumbling down. Is my memory correct?

#41Pink Floyd The Wall Tour in the US was late Feb. 1980. They only did 4 shows in NY LI Coliseum and 5 shows in LA Coliseum. As far as can remember they started in NY 4 shows then went to LA for 5 shows. The wall they built was too big to fit anyplace else. It was really a masterpiece. I remember freezing my b's off (it was really cold that night) walking from the car to the entrance.Comment -

#50Awesome, Al. Your taste hits me just right.
I actually was going to post "Perfect Strangers". What a great track.
"Aqualung" is classic, too. Such a good riff.
I've read a good bit about Rainbow. Great band but the lineups changed. My take is that Richie had some jealousy. Ronnie was a unique voice, and Graham should have been kept on longer for sure. Per usual, egos don't mix well in bands.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#51I can't argue vs. Jethro Tull or BTO but I'm sorry after 1981 and The Wall I just kind of lost it as far as good rock meant or played. But that's just my opinion. Yeah there were some good younger rock bands but to me it all ended about 1981. Call me an old fart but classic rock was really nothing after that.Comment -

#54Believe me me and my friends were lucky enough to get into their music and see them. We were lucky enough to get into NYC MSG and the LI Coliseum no problem. Great shows and I understand they were not for everyone. But sitting in packed stadiums watching Pink Floyd was a lifetime experience.Comment -

People can view the Roger fallout as a "what-if." I view it more as "Be thankful for the discography they gave us."
Personality conflict in bands is par for the course. I'd be hard-pressed to find one where there wasn't an issue.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#57Well there are some groups that have been around 30+ years. Just off the top of my head being from New Jersey I don't ever remember Springsteen and the E Street band ever having a problem together. I'm not going to sit here and list them but there are a few who keep going.Comment -

#60No I remember 1977 they played the tour at Madison Square Garden. The popular FM radio station WNEW had information then that they were going to give out priority seat ticket placement at a place in Central Park. I cut school that day and we went to where they giving them out. Sheeps Meadow of course. We got the prioritezed tickets and sat like 10 rows from the stage. The concert was definitely June 1977. I don't know they played earlier in the US it looks like Atlanta 1973 but they didn't get to NYC until 1977.Comment -
