California manages to destroy every facet of life. From the cities to the forests..

If you cut down the trees, you can't have fire. When will they learn?

Isn't this from their moratorium on forest management...basically clearing a lot of the debris and dead brush that really every other heavily wooded state has their DNR do annually?

Mostly. Not much to do with massive drought and heat.

Also no drought. It has not rained in a week Minnesota or Wisconsin. California is having a mega-drought. In 20 years, Nevada will be Afghanistan.

In the entire history of the Earth, I wonder how many times it's completely burned, then regrown only to burn again. Or completely frozen over and then warmed back up. Humans (well, SOME humans) are completely delusional if they think they can stop the Earth from doing what it's been doing for millions of years.

Exactly the point that global climate is uncontrollable
Now forest management is another issue
Logging dead timber and brush clearing of spaces within 25 miles of population zones you'd think would be common sense
But not for liberals

California is in a drought that is probably going to last 500 years. It was 116 in Portland. Those states are bursting into flames.

The Earth's surface is 71% water and Kalifornia is right next to an ocean. Hmmm....what to do....what to do....

You can't impune logic upon a liberal
It's actually hilarious and in all walks of daily activity
I was hitting tennis balls with a liberal yesterday. The guy came to the net for a point and on the way back walked past 2 balls laying by the service line on his court.
He didn't pick them up or move them aside.
My next point hit one of those balls.
He whined for 10 minutes how that was unfair.

Yeah, you can desalinate the ocean water. It will not allow you to grow anything or keep the place from burning down.

You can watch the whole clip or just forward it to the demonstration he gives
California government did bad forest fires, however, they are still happening. I dont get it.

The truth about many of the fires in CA is that the previous drought and lack of snow/sap allowed a bark beetle infestation to kill about 30% of the trees in the Sierra. Dead trees = fires. Couple that with power companies having live exposed wires that run through said forests and it's a recipe for disaster. If you want to make it political lets talk about deregulating utilities. Thanks Reagan.

Here is some random science for you. Did you know that the Plains has no trees because it is dry and the grass catches on fire easily because it is hot and that trees get burned down and cannot grow there because they are repeatedly burned over the centuries. California mountains are now drier and hotter than the plains. There will be no trees in Colorado and California in the future.

??
It's because the water table is within 3 feet of the surface, roots can't hold.
Ask yourself why there are no basements in South Dakota or Nebraska or Kansas...that's why, 3 feet down you hit water.
There are areas near rivers w limestone and other exposed rock that allow subsurface building, but in the open plains the lask of forestry is attributed to the high water table.
That's real science and a little life experience having lived in SoDak for 4 years.

No, it is because the only water is underground. Trees grow all over the plains. Rain is enough to keep them alive. That is only because humans put out fires. In the wild, they burn down. They cannot grow long enough to produce seeds. Eventually no trees.
The burned areas in Colorado will become grasslands. Same with California.

They don't
You know what the biggest threat is about the storm on the east coast?
It's water logged soil and wind. Why? Because trees topple when roots don't hold and trees toppling takes out the power lines.
There's few areas outside the river banks or mountainous area near the badlands that have soil consistent enough for forestry. It's that simple. The area of the country between the Mississippi and the Rockies is depressed topography that had a mile of ice on it for millenniums. It's water logged and is a basin in itself, subject to great winds and great flooding.
That is why there is extremely rich soils, but absolutely no trees.
