Boy, Guy Plowman sure played tough in that 2nd round. He looked like he really learned a lot compared to his poor side-play in the first round. I'm a bit nervous going into the next round. I just hope I don't come in last.
WHUFC is looking strong. I think he's going to pull the upset here vs Ryan.
This isn't Hexversi related but I figured I would post it here anyway because it sort of deals with duality. I've been making these "My best attempt at illusions" videos on Youtube for a few weeks now. They are all sort of the same but with different effects. I post them to Ewan Dobson music as he gave me permission. I made this one the other day. It's my favorite one so far.

I'm impressed by WHUFC beating Ryan. I thought I'd played against WHUFC once before but it looks like I never have. He's not on ladder and we've never been matched in tourneys. Just based on results I thought of him as a solid player who tends to fall to the elite players, sorta like myself

I'm already struggling in my games vs Mario. I'm kicking myself for move #9 below in the game where I am Purple.
I should have played g3 instead. I made a quick screenshot.
I think I might have been able to take over the game, had I played g3. I got too eager to capitalize on Mario's mistake and made a mistake of my own and he capitalized on my mistake. That game is still close but he's beating me pretty bad in the other one, I'll be lucky to recover in that one but I think the chances are slim.
I feel pretty good in my games vs WHUFC but they are still fairly close. I feel good in one of my games vs Guy and the other one is really close. I guess I'm shooting for 4-2 as of right now if I am being realistic. I'm hoping either Guy or WHUFC pulls a win vs Mario.Comment -
Wow, what a final round. Mario seems to be in good shape to take it now. Damn. At least makes me feel better about losing to him by the slimmest of margins. If only I could've taken him down when I had the chance

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is the strongest Finals in the history of Hexversi. I swept WHUFC and I split with Mario and I'm going to split with Guy so I will end up 4-2. I'm pretty sure WHUFC is going to get swept in all of his games but he still has a chance in one of his games vs Guy.
So, it's more than likely going to come down to the 2 games between Guy and Mario. If they split, then all 3 of us will advance to a 4th round. If either one of them sweeps the other, then they will win the tourney. Needless to say, I am hoping they split. I think I would give Mario an edge in these games but this could get tricky for sure. These games are pretty close!

As for myself at least I can say I went down to the eventual winner. Honestly the reason I guessed him to place last was "well I nearly beat him, so how good could he be" lol
I can't really tell if I'm getting any better at the game or not but looking forward to the next tournament just in case. I believe I'm about to beat Toptal on ladder, that would be a nice confidence boost!Comment -
Well it's official boys. Mario won the Tournament. Since nobody picked Mario, the prediction point standings will remain the same as they were in post #111. Daniel wins the 500 points, paid in post #112. Congrats!
I plan to organize another Tournament within the next couple of weeks or so. I'm thinking January 10th if I calculated correctly. I just have to wait until there is another Open Fast(28 hour time limits instead of 48) Tournament.
