Well this was Brooklyn Park (or Center...not sure) which is a burb NW of MPLS that is predominately black south of 694.
Normally, thou there is crime and drugs...this area more known for prostitution hotels & young wanna be drug dealers
The Minneapolis Police is a different animal. It's run by a white, elite liberal city council, no member of which, has ever set foot in "South Minneapolis" after dark.
The council is 100 Democrat, and they have tribal group think that borders on religion when it comes to their dream for the city. From $15 min wage, to outlawing drive thru windows (yup), to paying local artist $35,000 to design a drinking fountain, to light rail, to eliminating the strip clubs, etc. The council is hell bent on towing the liberal playbook.
That also includes mandated hiring of minority women, Muslim, black and GLBTQ folk.
So what happens is don't get the best of the best, you get people looking for a job at their highest level of incompetence because their skin or religion or orientation dictates a bigger paycheck in policing.
Furthermore, the weak are often paired w the stronger veterans and the veterans don't trust them so the weak don't get the proper training while riding along. They don't get real world practice because the veteran knows when you give a suspect an inch, they'll take a yard. If you show weakness, the suspect will play you.
So MPLS now, 20+ years later (I'm using the late 90s Muslim refugee push that the libs started as my starting point here) mpls is left w few qualified veteran officers, a more and more inexperienced and unprofessional force, lead by minorities and just like in football...you know what happens when you've got a "players coach"...the team rots from the inside due to dysfunctional characters.
That's the MPLS PD...to the city council they've checked every box in the diversity utopia they tried to create...and it doesn't work. It can't work really. You can't have a Muslim female in a hijib ride w another man due to her religion so she's paired w a gay female and now she's against the guys too so she rides solo and she's trying to arrest a 6'6 black guy whose drunk and passing in the street. She's gonna shoot him.
You got a dark skinned cop called to a domestic in Bryn Mar (exclusive white ivy league liberal area) and suddenly Karen runs up to the cop yelling "where have you been" except he's never been to that neighborhood and is unfamiliar w the community and his 1st reaction is to shoot her because she keeps running at him
You get Chauvin, a 20 yr vet,working Memorial Day for extra pay...and Floyd's out high and loitering, passing fake $$.
GF probably used to getting the Hmong cop or the twink cop or the black cop who doesn't want the confrontation and encourages GF to get outta there but Chauvin, a vet, doesn't take chances, doesn't give an inch, and does the arrest.
Did anyone take a look at the other 3 officers, their time on force and heritage?

It is even worse than you think. Watch the tape again of the recent shooting. At best it is complete incompetence by multiple officers at worst well I think you know. What was that law that said if a woman is drunk passed out all bets were off? Keith Ellison (Muslim) has interesting history with women doesn't he? Just wait till they get to 10% population you will be better off living in a dirt shack in Appalachian than in Minnesota.Comment -
