What I have seen, it's 70%--guessing--blue collar workers. And they seem to love it!
Plenty of street and park urchins, but I even tried help 2 [ladies]of them and they REFUSED.
So, this tells me, they are satisfied living on their own with some corner begging thrown in, too. But they never push for money, along with still having lotsa pride, it appears?
Vedas is a rich, rich city, so the poor and it's regular citizens are very well looked after.
The weather lately has been beautiful, but can turn quickly into chilly nights with ferocious winds into some awful uncomfortable conditions. Most street sleepers use cardboard boxes for comfort.
And the poor ones, facing bad weather and wind, both, still must find a way to survive. You have to be tough as nails.Comment -

I love Las Vegas (not so much anymore) I studied the history of it and everything.
It fascinates me the history of that desert town and how it developed and all. so I get the digital edition of the RJ in my inbox everyday to keep up on things.
What's going on now there is beyond startling.
What that city needs again, and I am serious, is Lucky Luciano and gang to straighten things out.

But this is what comes from a society that, instead if preaching equality at birth, starts preaching equality of outcome.
I'm sorry, but after about 16 years old we're not equal anymore...some have made choices in life, economics, relationships, education, etc that make them less, unvaluable, worthless. Their lives don't matter, society is better off without them, etc. There are plenty within all races. But our youth are being educated this isn't the case...all the social stigmas are being removed by liberalism, and as such, leadership and consequences have been traded for appeasement and forgiveness.
When you let poor, imprisoned and naive people vote, this is what you get. When the producers and tax payers are out voted by the unemployed and rental populous this is what you get.

I was just reading about the dozen or so casinos that are reopening, it would behoove them to invest in more/tighter security.
Seems to me Las Vegas needs a much more visible police presence too.
You know, a few more foot patrolmen on the Boulevard or biker police, more cruisers at night with their markers on just to let you know they are out there.
That's the best way for LV to rebound, if not the thugs will win.Comment -

Born and raised in NJ, 20 minutes from NYC (I'm in Ct. now)
I worked mid-town for years, when I was in my 20's it was a treat to go to work in NYC, I haven't stepped foot in NYC in eight years, and still refuse to.
