Rapinoe spent her summer in the Wubble, supporting Bird on the Storm's championship run, but both have gone above and beyond to support each other's careers. Rapinoe also credits Bird with changing her eating and training habits and giving her career a new boost because of them, especially after a spell where Rapinoe didn't get called up to U.S. women's national team games.
