They detectives obtained at least two separate warrants that they executed on the same night. Breonna's ex bf who is part(alleged) of some small time drug dealing ring. Basically they sell $5-10 amounts of weed,H,Coke,etc. out of trap houses. But the ex didn't live with Breonna and they had a warrant with his name and an address on a separate warrant than one for her apartment, which is easily 10 miles south and in a more middle-class mostly white area of town. The warrant for the ex bf- and we have to remember that they apparently only dated very briefly but remained on good terms. My theory is he kept in touch with her as a possible side piece and probably was slick and charming in his talk, and she probably thought the bad-boy image was sexy. But back to the warrant - they had executed the warrant on the ex bf address first and had him technically in custody, but not booked at the jail yet. While they were still on scene at ex bf address and questioning him and searching the home, the other group from narcotics team executed the other warrant for Breonna's home. And that warrant only had Breonna's name on it. The ex bf was not listed on that warrant. Nor was Breonna's sister that was said to live there with her, or the current bf , the one that fired a shot through the door(at least that has been the story from various statements and sources) as the door was being opened. Original statements from neighbors in the apartment complex claimed they never heard the cops announce themselves until after they started firing. But apparently now they have new witnesses saying they heard the cops announce themselves before they broke the door down. They were read off in the AG's report today by giving their initials only.
The current bf has no past arrests and is not known as a drug dealer, and legally owned his gun. Breonna too has a clean record as far as I know.
To me it seems she was used by the ex bf and his associates to post bail two times. Probably being she had no record and not known as drug user, they may or may not of gave her 100 bucks or whatever, just to go down and post bail a couple times. The ex bf is on record from recordings in the jail talking with others that visited him while he was locked up in the past - saying get with so-n-so and give money to Breonna and have her post bond.
The detectives knew the ex bf didn't live with her because in their investigation they noted the ex had "visited" her home X amount of times between such-n-such dates.
Only because of one time in their investigation, they noticed the ex bf leave her home with a "package" and they said it looked like from the USPS. They even sent a 3rd party investigative service to talk with the USPS and ask if she was receiving any suspicious mail/packages and the local postmaster determined nothing seemed wrong.
Apparently because she had ties to the dude and has posted bail couple times and he was seen visiting her home X amount of times and once left with a package- that led the detectives to thinking she was some person of importance. Instead they could've looked into her school and work record and noticed that she had been an EMT with the city of Louisville, but then left to go back and do some more pt schooling and was working 2 jobs, one as an ER technician at University hospital and also working pt with Baptist Health Systems(i think it was Baptist, maybe it was Nortons) versus assuming she was some drug dealer.
Even after shooting up the apartment complex and killing her, they still searched it and found NOTHING. Not even a roach. And definitely no stacks of cash.

People can put down wrong addresses on paperwork all the time. Heck , I been using the old telephone company address from town i grew up in as an address on zhit that don't matter for years. Well to hear the one cops version, and read the report, it is confusing af.
At first they are behind the door and just breaching it and the dude fires because they don't know who it is. And they all return fire. Blindly i may add.
Then the story is as the door is breached and cop clears the door he sees two people and one is a male in a stretched out position pointing a gun at him. He retreats back behind the door or doorway and hears a shot and then they all return fire.
Then there is - cop breaches door, clears door, sees two people , one, a male in stretched out position pointing a gun, cop starts firing as he backs around corner of doorway, pauses, says he been hit in femoral, and more hail of gunfire from all angles lights up apartment.
Then there is radio communications that have 2 different times of engagement. After realizing he's(cop) been hit, whether before he entered or after he entered, he yells he been hit in femoral, and all three light up the apartment, they pause, and on radio he says reload, and a second wave of bullets rain through the apartment.
Pretty much just blatant disregard for any innocent adults or kids living next door, or apartment connected through wall, or up stairs.
As soon cop seen dude in a stretched out position and pointing gun as he claims one would think instinct would be to roll back around corner of doorway and obviously announce yourself, even though dude should of noticed you were a cop, if the cop actually seen him in the manner he states. Because the dude in apartment, and original on the scene statement by one of the cops, both state that the he/dude shot through the door before they breached it.
But even if he(cop) got hit before or after he breached the door and doesn't realize till AFTER he starts wildly shooting into apartment as he retreats that he had been hit- there still should be protocol to take cover and announce yourselves as police and that you have a warrant - and not all three cops from 3 different angles just unload AND stop and reload and continue firing blindly into an apartment.Comment -
