keep your a1c under 7.
it’s okay if you need to take 2-3 oral meds to keep your a1c under control.

make sure you are monitoring and limiting your carbohydrate intake.
Count carbs. Eat chicken and fish + veggies.
Again, Count carbs. Lose weight.

insulin will put you in an anabolic state, which means you can gain a lot of weight if you are not active, so exercise as much as you possible.

500mg of MetFormin a day for me since February. Blood sugar has dropped from 341 to a range of 120-130.

A1C was 10.7 in February. Haven't been back to get it checked due to not wanting to sit in a waiting room with Covid patients but I would imagine it is quite a bit lower now. I cut way back on sugar and I'm sleeping a lot better now.

Went 4 months without having a single serving of sweets, sugar drinks, red meat, alcohol, or potatoes except for sweet potatoes. I have since added all of those items back into my diet but in moderation.

I had my MetFormin Rx refill called in today and they said I would have to go back to the Doctor for a checkup before they would fill it again in 30 days.

Took a 500mg metformin for awhile then a bad batch was made Dr said try wout it for awhile. A1C is solid. Number is 110 on a typical morning. Good luck Sammy. You're fine.

Yes at 70 plus most people can usually expect to be on some kind of meds or like you insul shots.. Diabetes. That's life..

Take the pain if you didn't work out hard and eat like a rabbit in your 60's and now 70's!!

I'm fighting the good fight myself at 52 now. I can still run, workout daily, life heavy weights, etc with no aches and pains or meds needed yet.. I'm holding on.. In 20 years from now I'll probably need a triple bypass though
