Resisting arrest and walking away from cops pointing guns at you is not protesting.
So sad all this social justice momentum has just led to people trying to get a payday or to justify disobeying police.
Reminds me of those guys by the VA in Los Angeles that used to step out in front of cars, not to as a suicide, but in hopoes of gaining grounds for a lawsuit.

Black Dude had a knife and was resisting and evading.. Reaching into his car while fleeing and could have been going for a gun. Justified shooting..
He's a total Thug with kids that was up to no good and breaking the law.. He should have known better. He's incredibly lucky to be alive. Hopefully he's charged for resisting and brandishing a weapon and goes to jail. Changes his life around after that.Comment -
These cops work these areas day after day and the majority of the time they are dealing with/come across these same individuals time after time. They know who the trouble makers are without running plates or IDs and Jacob was “one” of those guys....
These types have always been difficult and disrespectful towards any authority, especially the police and it’s not going to change anytime soon. For those of you that didn’t grow up around these types they’ve always used these same tactics to try and deter/deflect. Kick scream and create chaos Hoping the issue goes away or people won’t continue to confront you. I hate cops, for obvious reasons, have seen so much abuse by those assholes and the suspects that retain me to represent them, so many lies under oath, so much lack of integrity, it sometimes is hard to see it their way..... If you're that jaded, like the floyd cop asshole who just sneered at the public as he killed the guy, QUIT THE FORCE AND DO SOMETHING ELSE.....

Reports came in and the thug that was shot is paralyzed from the waist down.. I guess the cop shot thru his spinal cord. Maybe that will make him turn his life around.. Might make him a better father and person..

This exactly. ^^^v 25 years ago a cop blatantly lied on the stand against me.
And it was only a damn misdemeanor case!
My mom told me "You won't win. They lie and juries believe their lies because they think police don't lie."
She was right. I not only lost but I also wasted money on legal fees along with it.
Wildest thing was that the SAME cop got caught lying on the stand about a month later.
So I think YES now my case will get overturned! LOL Nope! No cases that he didn't get caught
lying in were affected in ANY way!!
It made me bitter at the system, and bitter in LIFE for years!

I think all cops should be given the green light to taser the wild protestors, maybe even shoot a few that are throwing shiiit at the cops.. Water cannons should certainly be used now at the moment the protests become violent or destructive in any city..

Look, I'm not a fan of cops as a general rule, I've had some less than pleasant experiences with them myself... That's not to say there aren't good ones out there, because I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of them in this country that do their job daily without incident. It's just the bad apples that get all the press. But the problem in this case is that I don't think these cops are bad apples, they were just forced into a decision with ugly consequences.
You can lobby all you want to about solely using physical means of restraint, but you're not going to have over half a million uniformed officers trained in MMA who can just subdue an individual on command. Furthermore, you now have many holds/maneuvers that are disallowed by the force in an effort to placate liberal dissent.
Sometimes things go sideways, but as an officer, you don't get a mulligan if you get shot while carrying out your duties, so when this Blake idiot repeatedly resisted verbal commands and physical attempts to subdue him, the officers drew their weapons. Blake carries on unabated and enters the vehicle, at which point his hands are out of view of the officers. If the thug turns around and fires shots at the officer(s) it could be game over. Anyone else in the officer's position would have reacted similarly if they value their own life.
Time to stop making excuses for criminals just because you expect that they will behave poorly, but then, conversely, insist that cops give the criminals the benefit of the doubt at every possible turn... Fukk that, if you're a human being, you have a responsibility to act like one. If you believe you're innocent, you'll have your day in court. Resisting/assaulting an officer who presumably is just doing their job, is never going to end well, especially if the officers genuinely believe their lives are endangered.
Bottom line is, being a criminal doesn't also make you fukking retarded, so have the sense to act like a human being in the presence of those tasked with curtailing your criminal activity, and 99.99% of the time you won't be shot.
As for guys like Jacob Blake who want to be criminals and total jackasses when confronted by law enforcement? Fukk'em, they can get shot and rot in hell, I really don't care.Comment -
This is true, there are very few incidents like this in the sum total of police/civilian interactions. It's all drummed up hysteria. If the media wanted to focus on any event, no matter how obscure, it would appear to be a rash sweeping the country.
Moreover, when these rare cases do occur they are never accompanied by facts, only outrage, further stoking the fires of angry mobs and steering the emotions of people like the ones in this thread defending society's lowest living organisms.Comment -
^ I have not defended this guy because I don’t know him nor do I care. He could be totally innocent, I haven’t seen any guns or knives that some are claiming, I heard he was breaking up a girl fight and got targeted by the police when they came on the scene. I hear he was a sex offender? Was that with an ex girlfriend, multiple women? One side wants to make him out to be a thug, the other side wants to make him a saint. I personally don’t care about the perps. It’s the cops that I care about. They are paid to protect and serve. They fukked up. No other way to slice it. I expect the perps to Fukk up. We have some sick individuals on our streets. I wouldn’t want to deal with these idiots, which is why I’d never be a cop. But our police have to get it right and stop fukking up just as bad as the perps. Do your job. Folks in corporate America get fired and go to jail every day for not doing their jobs, why should cops be different?
In the movie, The Dark Knight, Batman told Harvey Dent that he had to be above the law, if he broke the law, he would break the hopes of the people. Of course he eventually went rogue. Officers are the same. They have to be by the book and do their jobs not good but great.Comment
