If you watched Trump’s performance in the Axios interview, and you have half a brain, you realize just how the U.S. response to Covid 19 has failed as badly as it has – and continues to do so. Trump is either grossly misinformed, or he’s lying; and, while many will more easily accept the latter, I can’t help but think the former is more likely. Considering the sycophants who surround and advise him, and Trump’s aversion to hearing bad news, how likely is it that the Covid 19 updates he receives will reflect the nightmarish situation into which this virus is putting the country. I cannot even imagine what those charts he was waving at the interviewer described, but they couldn’t reflect the reality of Covid 19 infections and deaths in the U.S. if he wanted to spin anything positive out of them. Currently the U.S. accounts for 26.2% of all global infections, and 22.8% of the dead – and both rates are increasing daily – so how can you work a chart that spins anything positive out of that? Bottom line, whether he’s being misinformed or simply lying, the ongoing Covid 19 catastrophe in the U.S. belongs to Trump – but I still have to wonder – who the hell is giving him this “good news”?
