#39Read In a yahoo article that pops up every time I open a new tab.
Well I guess don't know now.
Being a small business owner thats been crushed every which way, I find it disheartening that assumptions are made that everyone who receives this money is lazy, etc. People have stores, inventory, rent, expenses. How can a person with a shop at a mall for instance survive? They have to pay all expenses but no income. How is this their fault or how can you accuse them of being lazy? Just stupid brain dead comments generalizing everyone.
Sure some people will fall in that category, but for a majority 1200 (and its 2900 for me with wife and kid so it aint peanuts) is very much needed. Business is at zero. Its not exactly easy to change something youve done for 15 years due to an unexpected life changing event.
I am going to feel guilty when wall street, airlines, restaurants, auto, banks, cruise lines etc get millions if not billions in aid but uncle sam cant pay a hard-working middle class citizen a measly 1200/month pp? Fcuk no.
Just because you see these ghetto bastards protesting on TV, doesnt correctly represent the majority of Americans who are jobless at the moment through ZERO fault of their own.
I am happy the rich can point and blame ones not making nearly their salary but is it coming out of your pocket? Why do we pay tax after tax (income, paycheck, state, federal) This is precisely when these political crooks should help us.Last edited by DISTROYA; 07-25-20, 09:06 AM.Comment -

#40Still no decision on the federal unemployment amount or if there will be changes to it? What jobs? They don't even have concessions for ball games and I was the guy selling ice cream with Slurry pumper. Slurry would walk the cart around the stadium and I ran up the aisles and back down.Comment -

#46Everyone likes free money.. The easy road, the lazy road.. Good LUCK with that.
Easy money goes fast and right out the window as fast as you get it and usually on flashy fancy toys, hard money worked for and earned wisely lasts and usually is invested wisely!!

#47Well here is how I see it going down in the next couple of weeks. Congress will play around and argue over some little point over the bill like carving out a special BLM painting so big even people on the moon could see it. The cost will be the sticking point. Republicans will be willing to give 20 million for this while the democrats will want 50 million. Meanwhile the rest of the 1.5 trillion dollars will be agreed upon.
Then the stock market will get involved and drop 25% in about 5 days worth of trading. Then all of a sudden the bill will balloon to 3 trillion and there will be infrastructure stuff thrown in for union workers, and the $600 a week unemployment that I have been sucking off the teet from will be reduced to $400 for the rest of the year. Tiny businesses will get some more give outs if you can prove that your still not allowed to open up yet, and if you're a hotel, restaurant, or any other kind of hospitality business with the exclusion of the strip clubs for some reason, you will get some cash as well.Comment -

No expression, no emotion
It's like when they asked Trump, 'Hey! Who is your treasury secretary?'
He was like, 'idk, just get the nerdiest, ice cold, number cruncher. That's who you get for these kind of jobs.'
That's how I imagined him getting hired.
Anyways, I love This guy.
Nothing but stone cold responses.

#56Congress is afraid that another stimulus check will disincentivize the general public from going back to work. But that is exactly what the extra $600 or so per unemployment paycheck is doing. None of these fukk are going to go back to work if you keep giving them more than they make.Comment -

#59The Democrats are fighting to keep the additional $600.00 available to the American workers for another period of time.
Of course the Republicans want to drop it down to $100-200 for a period of time..
What do SBR posters want???? Many must be unemployed and could use the the 600.00?? Are jobs really available or are people just sayin?Comment -

#60I wasn’t referring to people like you who make a nice living. It’s the large mass of low income people that have been getting the basic $350 or so per week along with the extra $600. So that’s almost 4K a month for doing absolutely nothing. Those are the ones that ruined it for others as congress knows they have no incentive to go back to work unless they cease the extra $600 per weekComment -
