I’m, admittedly, terrible at statistical projections, but what I predict below is not stat-based, but rather just common sense.
According to a Harvard epidemiologist, the easing of lockdown restrictions now, which the orange blimp and his Red Herd cheer, will inevitably lead to an earlier arriving 2nd wave of Covid 19. Summer weather is no longer considered to effectively mitigate infection spread and deaths. (That’s right, morons, the Coronavirus is really not like “ordinary” seasonal flu.) And that only leaves the current lockdown protocols to help; so that as they are eased, the Coronavirus will be effectively relaunched, perhaps as early as July. Moreover, that eventuality will not alter the reality of what will be 3rd and likely more virulent Covid 19 wave in the Fall.
On top of this, the increasing economic pressures (36 million unemployed, and the power of the rich to feed their need to get ever richer), are themselves inevitable, and puts America and its people between a rock and hard place - and I’ve heard no realistic solutions – least of all from the dufus in the White House.
Outside of a “cure” which, actually, is more of a potential reality today, than it was a couple months ago (along the lines of Remdesivir or Avifavir, drugs which seem to shorten the period of infection, and have nothing to do with either bleach or sunshine) – outside of that, we’re likely facing half a million dead by Christmas.
And before the morons ask – I’ll not bet on the numbers of American dead – but, again, common sense tells me the over is more likely.
