Didn't seem as bad last night. in D.C., they definitely got more aggressive. DeBlasio doesn't seem to not care as much and seems to be content with the riots. But most everywhere besides New York, it seems like the police are dominating the streets more. I'm fine with the protests as long as they're peaceful...but these loons are ruining it for them and what's done has to be done to stop the chaos.

NYC native. My hometown is done. I'd weep over it, but it's the most uncaring hometown in the US. While I have to admit, Queens will be fine, but Manhattan?

Manhattan makes New York City the Big Apple. IT IS DONE. ROASTED. GOOD BYE. Every fukkin' store on Madison Ave - fukkin' big time high end mid-Manhattan shopping district was invaded and destroyed in the past 48 hours. I can barely wrap my head around that.

In fact, there isn't a neighborhood in Manhattan that hasn't been overrun and the police are 100% intimidated. (KNOW WHAT - THE COPS WERE ALREADY INTIMIDATED LAST SUMMER WHEN THE HOODRAT RAGE WAS DUMPING WATER ON COPS …. DEBLASIO DIDN'T HAVE THEIR BACK THEN OR NOW)

The police gave run of the city to criminals a long time ago - today we reap the benefits. Good riddance and good luck landlords - you will never see rent rates like that again.

I think so.

I like to post odds, but I'm gonna pass on that right now.

I've bet that the rioting would stop for the last 4 days and have lost every one.

Almost forgot; gotta post reasons.

1) Lotta National Guardsman deployed now. One would think a more militaristic presence would deter looting; although it didn't last night.

2) Lotta blacks have had enough and are telling other blacks to "knock it off".

3) Whites have joined the protests, and in general, don't loot and riot to the extent of blacks.

4) Police have had 7 days to strategize and shore up their weaknesses.

(As I write this what could be gunfire echoes from a few streets away; hope its fireworks)

5) The anarchist group antifa has come into the consciousness of many mid-Americans now who have never really thought about stuff like that; which could result on a more focused effort to thwart them by police and FBI. They're mostly white I would say. They egg on the young black rioters and participate in violence and looting themselves.

Prediction: Mostly peaceful tonight as the the boiling cauldron begins to reach equilibrium.

I went down and checked out the Hollywood protest and it was very peaceful. Though the cops did fire off two rounds of rubber bullets whether into the air or on the ground right as I was getting 20 yards from the front. There was a mass retreat after that which alarmed me. After a minute or so they all marched back up to the police area. They were chanting kneel with us for like a minute straight. I feel like if they just took a quick kaepernik it would’ve alleviated a lot of the tension. Why not do this? The cops were herding us like baitfish with dozens of cars coming from behind forcing ppl up side streets . It was harmless but I wouldn’t want to be near that at night

I completely agree. I understand that train of thought as a privileged white male. There are a lot of scumbags taking advantage of the situation. Can’t say I’m surprised. The government (dems) pretty much handcuffed the police into only making non violent arrests no matter what. They don’t want to be standing in the streets getting spit on or yelled at over the 10% (guessing) of overly racial biased cops, Wby would they risk their lives / job defending any retail store, especially the household name ones? I know I wouldn’t be the hero defending Macy’s. Fack that. Lose lose situation. You can’t police a riot by playing tag.
