I believed in God until I quit listening to money hungry preachers, took a step back, read the Bible and studied other religions. Then I realized how much contradicting evil bullshit was in the Bible.
I don't believe in Islam, Christianity, Mormonism, Judaism, Zeus, or any of the other thousands of religions out there. In the event that 1 religion is somehow correct, that still means 99.9% of them are bullshit. Since science keeps disproving the Bible and Quran, I'll go with that until proven otherwise, after all, the people that wrote the Bible thought the Earth was the center of the universe so they weren't that educated.
I mean, maybe it's just a coincidence that God quit parting oceans and quit allowing people live to be over 900 about the time we could take pictures and record stuff. Maybe it just a coincidence he had Jesus come to earth and perform miracles when we had no way to document it or take a video....

I at one time thought the same.. I would think - why are there so many different religions in the world and why would God allow billions of people to believe in a false religion.. I would think who can be sure that one religion is true and another false? Etc..
Until you have a personal experience and or search for God hard enough you may always be in limbo and always look to find excuses why not to believe...
My take anyways as a former Atheist that rebelled against God myself.. That's no longer the case for me today and I can only speak for myself.. The one thing I will say is, I'm much happier and healthier today for believing in God and knowing there is life after death......Comment -

You do know that Muslims say the same thing right? So do Jews and Mormons and ancient Greeks that believed in Zeus.
People are taught to to not question religion or they're going to hell. Everyday they feel guilty and try to lie to themselves. They try to block out rational thought. It's easy to see why people trick themselves into believing.
I would love to live eternal life with gold streets or have 70 virgins after I die....I just know it's not going to happen so I enjoy the life I have a lot more.
Atheists tend to be knowledgeable about religion and happy people despite all of the myths about us.

I think Trump has a lot of flaws. Iran nuclear deal was excellent and Obama did a very good deal. Trump is 100% wrong and mattis will eventually convince him on this I hope like he did with torture. Trump isn't as unreasonable as you think.
