All in all, I think JJ adds quite a bit to discussions in not only initiating them but he routinely makes meaningful and insightful contributions to the gaming theory field. Certainly he is considered one of the leading gaming forum pioneers and his status as a poster should never be questioned....certainly not be a moderator reject.

Back on topic, I would be curious to know how the forum is doing since The jjgold Show rolled into town. In the big picture that is probably the best gauge of the topic question.

This is supposed to be the busiest time of year but my unscientific observation is that things are rather slow not just from a quality standpoint - which was predictable - but also quantity. I recall that last year when jj showed up at about the same time, there was quite a bit of traffic (albeit whacky, quality-impaired traffic).

This time the difference seems to be that, while jj still makes the same points and does the same shtick hundreds of times in a row - which is a lot of traffic in itself - people are less inclined to bicker about the truly asinine stuff (which, let's face it, is quite a bit of it). It seems like they can't be bothered as much. Posters have become more sophisticated and just do the forum equivalent of rolling their eyes rather than engaging the zaniness.

Again, it's just an unscientific observation. I don't know if it's true. I'm not wishing it's true. My forum needs are being met and I certainly wish SBR well.
