7 of those top 10 states are also in the top 10 least educated states in the country ... would like to see stats on west virginia as it is #1... Well, if we are going to talk without any political correctness, reason why those states are seemingly uneducated is because of a large black population. Blacks do not favor an education like other ethnic backgrounds. I don't know why, it is what it is.

yeah i know, but they still believe the same story, passed down from generation to generation, that you/whites do... but sure, the blacker populated states/cities will always be amongst the least educated... they are given every opportunity as other races and, as a whole, still refuse to take advantage...it troubling, to say the least...i think 7 or 8 of the top 12 blackest states are also in that top 10 list above... im not racist, and i know every person is different, but you can also look at those states, whose leaders are black, and see , as a whole, how poorly run the states are

you completely misinterpreted, but i can see how easy it would be to do so... people actually moved to west virginia to WORK ...generation after generation of mining families and when that dried up, they learned how to live by other means... im not saying the hill people arent dumber than a box of rocks... they have every opportunity to move or try school, as well.. but they want to work first...

there is a huge difference in the work ethics of hillbillies in wv and blacks in west memphis, arkansas... nobody is arguing the fact that west virginians, as a whole, are ridiculously uneducated, but since they are stuck in a place with fewer jobs, a lot of them live off the land and the way they want too ... there are plenty of jobs available in the other poor states...the blacks dont want to work... go look at welfare and other govt. programs...blacks simply dont want to work

Sometimes I just wonder about a lot of things...

I say to myself... well it's hard to disguise a Bible for all of these years. Scriptures have to be accurate. Why would people just create a book and make up things as they go along? It's kind of pointless. So the Bible must be REAL.

Another part of me says... I wonder what happens when we die? Do we just black out and its over? Wouldn't it suck to be as holy as you could... kind and generous... and it's all for not? Not saying to be an evil SOB... I'm just saying... there are a lot of hard core holy people out there. And you basically sacrificed a lot for God... but there wasn't a heaven. There wasn't an afterlife.

Then another part of me says... man... you busted your ass your entire life on this planet... you made all the right moves... you weren't a dik to most people... there has to be an afterlife. You can't just black out and die and then it's over....

Then another part of me says... well... maybe when you die... you're just born again in another family. The process just repeats over and over again.

No I'm not crazy... who am I anyways? And why am I here? You mean you've never asked yourself that? Of course you have.

You'll never know these answers until your final heart beat. And it sucks.

Map makes sense. States with the lowest levels of church attendance are in New England which is home to some of the biggest intellectuals and top universities like harvard. Then of course we have the dumb ghetto/hillbilly states of the south who have the highest rates of attendance. There is a definite correlation here between education/intelligence levels and church attendance.

I can't remember where I heard this but it goes something like: religion is much like a penis, it's ok to have one, and it's ok to be proud of it - but don't take it out in public, and don't force it down anyone's throat, especially the throats of children.

I'm glad to see that even in Utah church attendance is only 51%, and nowhere else does it even hit 50%. That makes me feel a bit better. Although I actually saw a sign in front of a church today that said "if we evolved from apes, why are there still apes". What. The. Actual. Fck.

And if you don't immediately understand why that particular sentiment is completely retarded please take the time to find out.

That's very IGNORANT! And many CHRISTIANS don't attend church and many educated people have FAITH IN GOD as well as the less fortunate. And for the record, the bible is the best book ever to read and any answer to anything is in there. All self help and self development,which is a billion dollar industry, comes from the scriptures.
