From what I read those private prisons for profit and torture.

not sure how far along you are in the data science journey, but you sound like where I was. I was trying to read tutorials online and there were too many gaps. This book helped me build a model, understand what I need to know, everything from start to finish. It is not a deep dive into mathematics and theory, but teaches you what you need to know to quickly build models and when to use which models. This book gave me the minimal understanding that I needed.

Grafana is pretty great and has a wide range of plugins. I will say the downside to grafana is it's largely time series based. So if your data isn't time series based you have to do some strange things to it at times.
