The condition may be a mystery as causes, but we know injury is one and we know I asked for it with radio frequency...What causes brachial neuritis?
In brachial neuritis, pain, loss of function, and other damage occurs in the brachial plexus. This is the bundle of nerves that travels from the spinal cord to the chest, shoulder, arms, and hands.
Doctors don't know what causes brachial neuritis. It may be linked to an abnormal immune response from another illness or injury.
The weakness is kept to a minimum for me but it's here and it's comes after the nerves fire up, always lurking behind me like a fukkin bitch...What are the symptoms of brachial neuritis?
Symptoms of brachial neuritis include:
Severe pain in the upper arm or shoulder
Pain usually affecting just one side of the body
After a few hours or days, the pain transitions to weakness, limpness, or paralysis in the muscles of the affected arm or shoulder
Lack of muscle control in the shoulder or arm
Lack of sensation or feeling in the shoulder or arm
Symptoms typically go away slowly over the course of a few months or a few years.
Treatment
Treatment of patients with acute brachial plexus neuritis includes analgesics, often narcotics (e.g., hydrocodone), which may be required for several weeks, physical therapy for three to eight weeks to help maintain strength and mobility, and encouragement that the condition will slowly improve in the vast majority of patients. The profound weakness in the shoulder muscles may require the use of a sling. Corticosteroids, although frequently used, are not of proven benefit.
In some cases, acute brachial neuritis will go away on its own over time. Recovery can take 1 to 3 years.
Fukkin picked the wrong month to quit sniffing glue. I am two weeks and one day from my last perc, feel as though the dependency is beat (for the second fukkin' time this year...something that takes the patience and discipline of someone who can, say, gamble on sports meaningfully) but man I am considering getting more for this neuritis bullshit.
Encouragement is my treatment? Fuk man, some posters here can tell you that I'm usually the one doing the encouraging, now I'm looking at at it from the other side.
I really don't think I'm on the 1-3 year plan here, I'm hoping weeks to months. The worse symptoms are come and go making me think there will be more going as time goes on...here I am encouraging myself...lol.
