#49320I was considering the same thing...would it be profitable in the long run and/or the rest of the year to just blindly bet the Cubs with equal units or denominations on each game...for example, bet a $100 on the Cubs every game from here on out...this team is hotter than a fresh fukked fox in a forest fire right now...of'course we all know in baseball things have a way of evening out and the law of averages catch up or at the very least the Cubbies will hit at least a couple of slumps and losing streaks before the season ends.Comment -

I'm not sure the exact numbers but someone posted about Golden State, and I didn't really verify the numbers either, but you get what I'm saying.

#49328I found it, post 99. Results from the past 5 years - of the teams with the most regular season wins. Line adjustment does not appear to affect considering blind tailing a dominate team for the regular season (and the cubs, baring injury will be up there as one of best). Keeping in mind..this is only the past 5 years and it could most definitely be different this year. I can go back further, but crunching numbers at work and sports- sometimes is tiring.

Boy Jmon, there a few queries I want to ask you, see your results compared to mine, but don't want to put it in the Forum, lol.
I've found that many databases are set up in such a way that certain queries are impossible, or difficult and must be done in creatively, in chunks. I've also found that these types of queries are often relevant to making a valid line.
I'm not saying it has anything to do with you Jmon or even suggesting it does, but just pointing out that sometimes the design and flexibility of a database can directly relate to the ability to produce a winning formula.
I also think that general queries lack the context of each game, which is vital to market analysis. Creating your own database and living through it is ideal
Good stuff JMon.

Or...we create several algorithms and then seek to understand when to use each of them.

#49331We search not for trends, but for answers. The goal is to create an algorithm that can be repeated with success. What throws off bettors is that the algorithm, while by definition a static set of repeated instructions, must become dynamic and understand change. It's a paradox that must be reconciled.

#49333#Flyme rules. That Fidel guy, and I know I'm gay on it, but what watched his picks for the past 4-5 years. SU one of the best handicappers on this site. Manster is creative with his picks. I'd love too see more SU picks, like his Reds over last night by a mile.. muther fuker holding out
And there is this smoken guy...he has been hiding in a hole and only peeks on certain days. Guy can pick like a mofo too. And god rest his sole, herby jones, was a contrarian player and good at it.
I want to say, sbr3 about destroyed this thread. The first one was just as powerful and I can't imagine the two combined. And now KVB.. with his analytical and critical thinking seems icing on the cake and what I try to teach in my college classes.Comment -
