He had a foot in the way. The call was correct based on the rule IMO, but I agree that the rule is moronic. Sucks that we lost a run on that, but oh well.

It fukks up every play at the plate when the catcher has to get out of the way and the runner can't just slam into him and try to knock the ball loose. They ruined one of the most exciting plays in the game. Protecting the players is great, but there are some parts of the game that are going to be physical. It's sports FFS.

Parlayin, that particular play is the reason why the rule is ludacris.

the catcher is moving his leg out of the way as he is sliding in .

What small amount of his anatomy that was in the way had no bearing on that play

I bet if you asked the player he would say he was not blocked whatsoever.
