You DO realize that as of about 48 hours ago Lawrence and Lupita were dead even? I got Lawrence at +265, seems like a solid price considering it beat the closer by around 100 cents.

Just NOW got to watch the awards. Wife got out of work late and its tradition to watch it together. Decided to drink some wine and crash instead, didn't wake up til noon.

Another great awards night. Finished up somewhere over 20 units. Not as good as last year, but still easy money.

Immediately after lines closed at 8:30 I regretted switching my best picture play as there was an angle I hadn't thought of until then. Going to write myself some notes for next years.

Pretty much all the favs won except smaller categories. Holds true year after year, the trick with Oscar betting is to identify who the favorites are going to be early and hitting them hard.

for the record, we had 2 of the 3 dogs that cashed: helium +600 for best live action short, and her +300 for best original screenplay (closed as the favorite, however). the third was mr. hublot +800 for best animated short.

Well if we're counting favorites that opened as dogs, I got McConaghey at +1500 and +150 as well.

Also 20 feet from Stardom was a dog, I got it at +170 originally, closed at something like Evens with Act of Killing still the favorite.

I don't use cable, but I can get ABC on my antenna. Recorded it on my mediaserver.

ASFAIK they've never released actual voting numbers in any year, it would make things a lot easier to cap in the future.

When I placed my plays on Lawrence they were sharp, then Lupita won the SAG and thats when she took all the action in. The BAFTAs just confused the issue. I still hung on to the play because in the past the Academy has stiffed black nominees many times in deserving spots. I definitely never thought Lawrence DESERVED to win.

Still think Gravity was the right play at +510 though, so hard to read with the preferential balloting system. You basically have to predict who got 2nd place on the ballots of the people who picked the worst few films. My theory was that Captain Phillips would have the least votes, and it was more likely to have Gravity as a second choice than 12 Years. My fault was that, going one film deep was not likely to be enough.

Yeah, I hope if Marz tailed me it was only on Lawrence and Gravity. Would definitely be worth the lost money.

Lawrence having her time already is definitely the best argument, these guys love to pick who deserves the awards based on things other than who did the best job. I read some academy members justifying their picks, and some of them were pretty catty.

sry one more question. right now {redacted} has a prop priced way different than where it opened and has stayed at the euro books, but does not seem to be an error of any sort. i was going to pm you and pun about it but am afraid if it is hit again {redacted} will just cancel everything? has this happened to you? did you wait till matthew moved alot before posting it here in case the book just straight up canceled it because of error?

I waited til Matthew moved not because I was afraid of it being cancelled, but because I wanted to hit it at several books at larger limits. No point in giving up my position and moving the line at bodog for $25 bets when I can hopefully get thousands down elsewhere.

I would love to give everyone the best lines possible, but it costs me money longterm.
