I've booked before and i can tell you from a books perspective, there really ain't shit you can do here except setup a payment plan. Yes 12 dimes is alot but in the grand scheme of things he'll make much more during the season. If he roughs up Pwad or griz he risks his business and the police being involved, attention towards him and although there are alot of take no shit type of people out there, no one is going off anyone here. Griz go to your bookie and explain, you vouched and its the same as making the bet yourself but work out some kind of payment plan. He will allow it because he has to, or get nothing and something is better than nothing.

I dont know what your history is with him but you (GRIZ) as a bettor is valuable to him so he doesn't want to necessarily loose you as a customer either. You might ask him if you can make the figure owed a redline and continue to bet. Whatever your up comes off the redline figure. I would do this and also make small payment whatever extra you could do every week. This sounds a little crazy being in to him so much but he keeps you playing which is important and allows you to take extra off the debt. The bookie sees it as an opportunity to really get you betting more to chip away at the debt but if you can make some good plays you can erase that or reduce it.

The books mentality is to keep you playing. He doesn't want to take all your money at once bc you will go else where or stop playing so the key for books is to get your money over time. I had no pays and slow pays and there isn't much you can do. Fortunately i had a bookie that had been bookin for 40+ years teach me things about the business. I eventually partnered up with him and last year during the first cpl weeks of ncaaf we took a like 7-9k hit from a cpl cats that didn't end up paying. I had some rough cats on deck that love doin that kind of thing(collecting) but my book/partner told me not to. We infact would reduce the debt somewhat or make it managable if they would continue to play... Crazy logic but in this kind of business you need players and these days with online books and other outlets, they can be hard to come by.

The thing not to do is not communicate with the bookie, and just let his mind wander and what not. He really isn't gonna care who said what and why cause after all bettors will do and say anything to get out of a gambling jam. Seen it so many times and had it happen to me more than a few times from players. With that being said i dont book anymore but dam that was good money, and in all actuality the book never looses on a no pay really. I mean maybe a little respect and yes it really PISSES you off as a book and you want to do all kinds of things but you can't because it becomes EXTORTION which is more serious than booking from what i've been told.

Oh and in the future when someone wants to place a wager that is rather large, make them post. If they cant post then they cant play!
