I Don't Know Why I Keep Playing Poker
Honestly, I know nobody cares about sob stories, but I'm just so sick to my stomach. I lose as an 80%+ favorite every single time.

Let me be clear, if I have AA and a guy pushes all in with KK and I call and he hits his K, yeah it sucks, but I don't blame him for making the move... that's just poker.

Just now I was in a big multi table tourney, 950 people started with 3000 in chips...

Down to about 500 people, I have 15,100 and blinds are only at 250/125... I get dealt KK in my big blind... 4 callers around to me. I raise to 2000. 1st guy folds, 2nd guy re-raises all in (he had 14,700) , 3rd and 4th fold.

I'm thinking he may very well have aces but I'm not going to try and be a hero. If he has Aces, its his. But I'm calling.

    He has Qh 8h.

Somehow, he has lasted an hour and 45 minutes and not only called the 250, but reraised all in with Q8 suited.

    Pokerstars rewards him with a J 8 3 flop, turn Q, river 2.

I lay down AK all day.

      Would you lay down KK?

Sick beat usc but with 4 limpers I would have made it 4K to see the flop.

Even if it's folded around to you, you still pick up $1K plus the blinds and not have to sweat an ace hitting the flop.

The Q/8 ape probably still would have called so in the end it doesnt matter I guess.

Agreed in retrospect I could have raised more but I agree, I don't think the guy doesn't attempt his move with a 4000 raise...

In any case, heads up against Q8 is certainly a situation I didn't mind being in, other then the massive gut feeling that exactly what happened would happen.

You keep playing poker because jag offs that re-raise all-in with Q8s make it very profitable in the long run. Tough beat. Make a note of his name and hope you see him again.

Pocket aces have only about 80% chance of winning againist one caller and that's the best hand you can start with.

Well it depends on the hand Aces are up against.

AA against, say, QQ, is an 80.69% favorite

AA vs. 89 suited is a 77.22% favorite

AA vs. K 8 is an 87.97% favorite

All depends on what your opponent has.

In my hand, KhKs vs Qh8h, I was an 83% to win the hand.

Personally I play a lot on PS and it seems like the underdog wins 80-85% of the time.

                        180 person $22 tourney...

                        6 players to go, I'm in 3rd with 43,000 chips, blinds 3000/1500...

I'm 2nd to act with AK suited... 1st to act (55,000 chips) raises to 9000, I call, everyone else folds.

                        Flop comes 7 K 8 rainbow.

He bets 15,000, I raise all in, he calls and flips over KQ

                        Turn Q.

This one will hurt for a while. I was playing excellent poker and with the commanding chip lead I would have had should have finished in the top 3 at least for $488, $720, or $1080...

                        Just $180 for me today.
