how do you get that? do you know the rules?

      7 6 5 4 2 is the dealer low.
8,7,5,3,2 is my low (and the winner according to me). 45678 is definitely not the dealers low.

yeah you're probably right, this game confuses the hell outta me.

edit- think you're definitely right here, think you've helped me learn this game now.

nevermind, you have an 8 low and dealer has a 7 low so you lose.

            7,6,5,4,2 is lower than 8,7,5,3,2

it starts with the top down. any 7xxxx hand beats any 8xxxx hand.

            Cheers.

                      LOL

I think I would have an aneurysm to try and spell aneurysm without a dictionary...

Seriously though. It is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Super System I/II have a good chapter on it and if you are non-US, there is a very good $1 nightly 9:10pm EST Horse Tourney on Pokerstars. You can learn how to play all of the HORSE games for very little cost.

                      Cheers.

"For many new players, the most confusing part of Omaha Hi/Lo is determining the nut-low. In this game, straights and flushes do not affect the low. Thus, the best possible low hand is a wheel (5432A). Furthermore, it is important to remember that the low hands are counted from the top down. A player with 8432A (an 8 low) would lose to a player with 76543 (a 7 low). This surprises most players who instinctively think that 8432A wins due to the ace as the lowest card."

feel pretty dumb myself, but glad you made this thread. never had a great understanding of this game. got the info from here and reading through a bunch of sites, this one made it pretty clear.

thought i knew the rules ( i have only been playing like a month). at least i know the rules better then customer service. they keep saying you cant qualify for low if you have any pair at all in your hand! i swear, i spoke with 3 people on phone, probably numerous more in email and not one of them was able to explain to me properly.

of course i should know the rule. but im learning.

but it is 10X worse for customer service to be so clueless of the rule that they admitted they told me the software made a mistake and refunded my losing match! not 1 person there was able to properly explain the rule to me. i was just playing for fun, this is their freakin job.
