    Best Tournament Finishes
This thread is here for all to post about their FINAL TABLE finishes of tournaments with 90+ entrants, live or online. It is appreciated if you post as much information as possible regarding the tournament.

At the bare minimum I would like you to include:
    • The Poker Room
    • Specify Live or Online
    • The buy-in amount and prize-pool; If it is a re-buy tournament, specify how many re-buys/addons you made. Also specify re-buy/addon cost.
    • The number of entrants
    • The starting chip stack w/ blind time (the amount of time between each blind increase)
    • The amount of time you played
    • What place you finished
    • Tell what hole cards you went out playing and how it (the last hand) played out in terms of betting as well as opponents hole cards.

If any this information is unavailable to you and you forgot it, just omit it, no biggie.

Include any other details you like such as some showdowns and plays that led you to the final table, how your stack rose/fell over any certain period of time, etc. If it is a re-buy tournament, you could specify when you made re-buys if any, in terms of what the blinds were at the time of the re-buy. Finally, be honest and polite about your opponents, even if they played like donkeys. May good luck be with you at the tables.

P.S. You can usually find me at Bodog Poker online, my screen name is the same. Be sure to look me up on LOW stakes ring games and tournaments including freerolls. If you find me, give me a HOLLA! Happy chip hunting.

    9th Place Finish

Saturday, 1/16/10, I played Bodogs $500 Freeroll w/ Rebuys. I didn't catch any hands worth while for the first 4 blind rounds. My chip stack was around 1300 when I observed the majority of the players at my table had around 2500 or more. I made the decision to rebuy based on that, which put me up to 2800. Soon after that I doubled up to around 5400, I don't recall what I was holding in terms of hole cards. As the tournament progressed I kept my chips stack relatively even as the blinds increased. Then I made a bad decision and got my stack cut by four fifths. That put me back down to 1800 or so, with blinds at 100/200 and 1500 players still in the game. I was lucky enough to double up a couple of times after that making my stack about 7200. My stack than began to continuously rise by stealing blinds when I could, and by catchin some cards.

It was all a blur after that, until I noticed the tournament was down to 250 players give or take a few. I had worked my stack up to 54000 and at this point the blinds were around 1,000/2,000. Here's where it gets gritty.

I A4o at the cutoff position with everyone previous having folded. I raised to 6,000
only to have the player on the button raise me. I mistakenly put him on a weak hand. I went all in for around 45000, like the dumb ass that I am. Needless to mention, he called. His hand was shown to be AQo and I nearly crapped my pants. Good thing I was at home and not at a Casino somewhere. I must mention that we're down to about 200 player left in the tournament. So, of course a Q would hit the flop, but fortunately for me a 5 came down with it. The turn was shown to be a 3, but I was still way behind. I needed to hit a deuce on the river to take the pot, and I got it. What luck huh?

Now I was sitting on about 90000 chips with blinds at an excruciating 2,000,4000 and only increasing. I continued to play mildly aggressive stealing blinds and what not until I got myself into trouble again. I honestly dont recall what my or my opponents hole cards were, but before I knew it I was at 360,000. Still I didn't let up, when my opponents showed weakness I bet, although I usually had a decent hand. My stack rose to over 600,000. At that point the tournament was down to 5 tables with blinds pretty far up there, I can't even recall besides the fact that 600,000 chips was only about 8 rounds of hands if I folded every one.

Some how I made it to the final table, but with a measly 340,000. The first hand of the final table I am the first to act, big blind just before me. I raised the pot to 3 blinds , about 180,000, holding KJh. Everyone folds except for the big blind. He pushes all in, I'm obligated now to call, as if I wouldn't even if I wasn't obligated.
He shows AA. After just over five hours, That was all she wrote for me. I finished in 9th place.

    Tournament Details:
    • Poker Room: Bodog, Online
    • Buy-in: $0 w/ Rebuys and Addons @ $1
    • Prize Pool: $500
    • Entrants: 4236
    • Starting chips: 1500
    • Blind Time: 10m

My biggest tourny win was in a Seattle area Casino about 5 years ago. I won about 17K I think there were a couple of hundred players then there were rebuys and an add on. It was a $100 and some change for the buy in maybe $125. I never had a rebuy or add on. I was at the top or near the top wire to wire pretty much. I dropped one big pot about midway though but that was one of my only missteps that day. They tourney was over 10 hours.

Incredibly nice finish harley, and live too? That must have been something else, something I only dream about. My biggest buyin so far is like $10 I think, and that was over three years ago. Sad, I know, I am just to volatile of a player. I've learned I'm just not as good as I think I am so I stick to low stakes/freerolls, I seriously don't even have a right blogging about my BS finishes, I just need my SBR Points. $17K is something to blog about, I'd never get over it. Nice Finish Harley.

Thanks guys this was in 2005. Seems like a lifetime ago. I was a hardcore casino gambler at the time. I won a lot and lost a lot during about a 5 or 6 year stretch. I am a better gambler now than I was then. I don't play as often as I did then, but I keep more than I lose now. I have been playing at the southern poker championship in Biloxi, MS trying to win a ticket into the WPT event starting Sunday. I am going back down there in the morning for my last couple of days to try and win a satellite for my ticket. I have decided not to spend my own money to get in. I am taking 5k with me this weekend and if I can make the other 5 or win a sat I will play on Sunday. If not I will be happy with my Black Jack winnings (see my post) from last week.

I've won several small $4.40 180 person tournaments on pokerstars, but my biggest cash was actually a $33 HORSE tournament, 2nd of 144 in may of '08 for over $700. I don't remember the last hand, but if I remember right, there was an out of control chip leader knocking everyone off. Also, in live play, my biggest tourney score was a chop in a little $65 donkament for about $600

While I played at Ultimatebet, I played a $10 Omaha H/L tourney, it was $1500 guaranteed.. There were 240 players, I got off to a great start and kinda rolled from there.. It was the only time I ever pretty much cruised the entire time.. Won it and it paid $730..
