    I need someone who's good @ odds....
Just curious... .played about 800 hands over the past 3 days. I only play two tables at a time.
I'm not big time by any means..... i only play .25/.50 table...
I'm just amazed by this. Once "it happens" Twice that's bad luck... but FIVE?

5 times over the past 3 days i've hit middle set on the flop only to have another player hit top set....

Don't wrap yourself up in the Bad Beat odds.
Poker is cruel at times and incredibly kind at other times.

    Bad Luck.
    Good Luck.
    Nothing last forever.

Poker is What it is ..........

          Full tilt.....
Like i said it happens once... shrugs ... twice unlucky five times over 800-1000 hands... odds may be worse than the lottery.
          I thought for once the odds would be 1/9 x 1/9 = 1/81
1/9 is odds of hitting trips with pocket pair "i think off my memory"

              Found that on 2+2:

Odds of being dealt a pocket pair: 1/17
Odds of flopping a set: 1/8

              1/17*1/8 = 1/136

Odds of an opponent being dealt a pocket pair (10 handed): 9/17
Odds of them flopping a set: 1/8

              9/17*1/8 = 9/136

Odds of you and an opponent both flopping a set:

              9/18496

Odds that your opponent flopped a higher set: 3/6

              total odds: 9/36992 = .024%

The odds of getting a set with all five common cards showing is 1 in 5. Did the other player really hit top set on the flop all five times?
