wsop has never been held in section 8 housing in NJ, or at Columbus park, near waves' shanty in trenton, due to too many discarded heroin needles lying all over the place....
Helmuth punctured a tire (by running over several used needles) on his UB nascar ride the one year they thought about it while surveying spots, done deal..... waves has no appearances in any wsop events......

I've been on World Cup teams that are much harder to make. Any donkey can make team Canada, that's not an accomplishment.

not many have been pricks at all, of all i've played with, Duhamel was some what prickish as he kept getting up from the table to bullshit with people he knew on the rail, which was right next to our table.... kind of acted like "since it's just a measly $1,500 bracelet event, I don't really even need to be here for the first 4-5 hrs"..... we were in the "overflow" area (set up in the pavillion), and when we finally got down to enough players to be moved into Brasiliia around 11 pm, sad to say Mr. Duhamel wasn't one of those making the move; he'd busted out several hours earlier.... guess he should've taken a little more interest in the trny.... (this was a year or two after his m.e. run)
of the most down to earth, and tho not really a pro, one day I found myself moved to Darvin Moon's table in a daily deepstack..... just a $345 buyin, so was surprised to see him in it. Played with him for seven hours and right as they the tables were collapsing near us, our table next, some bitch beside him called my set i'd flopped with the nut flush draw, she called another big ass bet of mine on the turn, and of course rivered a diamond to get there and end my day.... had a good time playing with him, he was uber tight, and I must've stolen his big blind six-seven times from the cutoff with marginal hands at best; I was in the 10 seat, him in the 3.....
enjoyed playing with rousso in a bracelet event.... we even found ourselves eating rio pizza at the same table, she came and sat down cater-corner from me at a four person table due to limited seating, havin' recognized me after being moved to my table.... had a light bullshit convo with her about a few of the hands she'd played since arriving at my table.... never got in a hand with her as our table broke about an hour after the dinner break....
most enjoyable pro I ever played with was tj cloutier, tho that was in oklahoma not the wsop (tho it was a wsop related circuit event).... got to listen to about 7-8 hours of stories of the "good ol days" and some of the rough and tumble casinos he played at during the 50's -70's.... another relatively older pro who'd played with him for years was also at the table, so their sharing stories was a bad ass experience. High pts of the day were some hoody wearing young gun with an ipod sucked out to stay alive, and stood up and started yelling "YESS, YESSS, YESS!!!" His initial shouts startled TJ, who glared at him, and when he calmed down and sat back down, TJ says "You better learn how to win, BIG BOY!!!!" The table was real silent, the dude turned beet red, and meekly apologized to "Mr. Cloutier" after a few more hands were dealt.... Other Hi-point was later in the trny, after TJ and I were moved to the same table, I was fairly stacked and tj was hurtin, and I raised his bb from the hi jack with 72 suited..... with the ballsy intent to show after the anticipated fold.... as he's pretty tight, and had seen I hadn't been pullin any stupid shit like that all day, he folded..... as I reached for my cards, I suddenly lost any f'n thought of showing those fukkers to him.... mucked em..... the man is intimidating, and deserves a helluva lot of respect....
and tho i was never at his table, I got see a lot of scotty nguyen when I final tabled one his events in oklahoma during his "birthday bash"..... he was on the wagon (this was post his drunken-wsop rampage), and he was really fun to interact with, and very appreciative of the huge crowds there to see him/ play in his events..... I even found myself saying shit like "call me, you goin' home baby" by the end of that trny.... Pretty cool tho, having Scotty standing right behind you when your three handed at a final table, peeking at your cards....Comment -
couple years ago my buddy played in one of the massive field $1500 buyin wsop events and got down to the final 3 tables and Hellmuth was at his table for most of the day with 20 something players left..was pretty cool, I think he ended up cashing for like 20-30k
by far the biggest prick I have come across on the tables is Celine Dion's dead ex husband, Rene Angelil...what a fukkin douche he wasComment -
