40 player limit?

Can someone explain why the tourneys are limited to only 40 players.

I assume it is to make the 3 tourneys equal as far as points distributed etc.

But with beat the prick contest among other things, there will be a lot more traffic on this site through the fall months. Isn't the goal to build the site?

If the 40 player limit could be lifted, I would think the current payouts could be the same for tourneys of 40 players or less. However perhaps a greater payout could be used if a tourney had 60 or 80 players etc. You guys with great math minds could figure out a proper ratio, probably similar to live casinos.

Last night I logged in 90 minutes prior to 11 P.M. and it was already full. I do not want to load the software at work site just to pre register, and do not want to waste a spot by registering early and then not being able to play because of work or family stuff. However I will quickly lose interest if I am consistently unable to register because tourneys are full. I am an accountant, so busy in winter, make it up to the family in the summer, Fall is GO TIME!! This is why once I get behind, I try not to waste the spots for those competing for the spots. However, I really enjoy playing.

I regularly tell other people about this site and have been loyal for years. But if people come, spend the money to become a pro, they will want the opportunity to participate.

I apologize if this has been discussed before. i am to lazy to review old posts.

I can understand one tourney per day per player...Just not the 40 limit.

Registering early is ok unless something happens and you can't get back to your computer to unregister if you cannot play. I hate to waste a spot for someone who is on the sidelines and ready to play.

Agreed to the above. Adding a 4th tournament would solve a lot of problems. As of now the poker room is impossible to grow. In other words, we're as big as it will ever get. If your business grows, you find a bigger building and hire more employees. We are getting the new employees but crammed inside the same size building.

+1 on this. It is getting silly. I have been locked out of 3/5 tourneys that I wanted to play this week . I registered for last nights 11pm because it was my only option but then got home too late to play.

The ironic part is that this will constrict the player pool making the later stages more open as people drop out of playing because they are too far out of the running.

Given the format and the problems people are running into, why not just add a tourney or 2? Seems a lot of players want that 9pm slot back...

I got caught yesterday. 3 hours before the 11PM and it was full.

Won't make that mistake again.

Why is there a limit anyways? Seems like a minimum would be all that's needed. If there has to be a max 60 player limit makes much more sense with the top 12 getting paid. Add 3 minutes to each level and it would be pretty nice for a turbo.

If SBR adds a tourney they have to lower the prize pools and payouts spots and I imagine that would produce more crying than the 40 man limit and lack of 9pm combined, so probably a bad idea.

the limit should be 40 because people have lives and don't want to spend more than 2 hours 5 days a week playing sbr poker.

An extra tournament solves all this
